I have never written a Google review, but felt compelled to for this. Let me just break the entire experience down: Location: easy to find, yes, but we also all had smartphones with GPS on it. When we arrived, about 10 minutes early, NO ONE on the staff recognized that we were there, no hello, nothing. We stood on the sidewalk until others started moving onto the boat and we followed. No interaction whatsoever from the staff. We took our seat in the back and waited.... and waited.... and waited. Service: Absolute trash. Our waitress was visibly under the influence of something (and we saw her drinking at the bar) and could not have cared less about us. She just had no clue what was going on. Did not realize that the four of us sitting together were in fact one party, and took two of our orders and completely ignored the other two. Informed me they were out turkey when I tried ordering a breakfast sandwich, then came back and told me she "found turkey" to which I was excited and re-ordered the sandwich, and then still processed my order as the alternative dish I asked for when she orginally told me they were out!!! A complete disaster. Food: You get to select from a tiny menu of breakfast foods that clearly cost ~$5USD each to produce yet the ticket for the boat was $50USD. Bread was stale, eggs were overcooked, awful. Drinks: You get one TINY free alcoholic drink and one TINY non-alcoholic drink. Still water is 5 euro for a refill. Complete trash. You get a complimentary tea/coffee which are brewed in a Keurig and tasted terrible. Music: Completely inappropriate. Loud and vulgar. And I'm 27 with a love for rap music. But I don't need to hear the N word blasted over my breakfast every 3rd word. Boat: The boat itself was fine. Not dirty, but not clean. The viewing deck was small (to be understood) but the weather was nice so we enjoyed being on the bow.
Overall, would I do this again? Absolutely NOT and you shouldn't either, at least not with this company....
Read moreConsidering the fairly high price of this brunch, the experience was a disappointment to us for the following reasons: Food: The brunch that you get to choose from the menu was nice, but nothing extraordinary that we wouldn't have been able to make easily at home. "Something sweet" that was promised with tea or coffee (btw, no cappucino or any other alternatives are available - pure coffee only) turned out to be one teeny slice of bananacake that lasted for two bites. Not very impressive. Space: Although cute and atmospheric, it was really chilly on the boat. There is heating, yes, but although it was said to be on maximum, our toes were frozen and the only way to stay a bit warm was to hold our hands around a cup of tea and cover our legs with our coats. The wall next to the tables and seats is also so high that from the majority of the seats you can not really see the view well - unless perhaps you happen to be very tall.
I agree with other people saying that if you want to offer a guest a special Amsterdam experience, this might be a nice option. It's also a nice option if you (are tall and) want to see Amsterdam from the level of canals in general. However, if you are looking for a tasty brunch, you better spend your...
Read moreWe will do again!! We found this cruise by watching YouTube. I wish we could credit the couple that toured and suggested. The food looked great online and in person. For such a small prep and serving staff (just 4!), everyone was sat, fed, and checked on regularly. We were sent a link the night before to order our meals and had the option of ordering more than one entree per person for a small extra fee, that was cool because my guy usually eats 2 entrees. The drinks were perfect and we expected them to be light, but after just one I felt tipsy! The seats are low, so you kind of fave to sit up straight to see over the side of the boat. We sat close to the bar to stay out of the direct light under the overhead tarp. Thawte have the ability to close the entire top, but...
