Patisserie Kuyt — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The pastries here are outstanding, take it from a frenchman who loves sampling pastries. I have had multiple cakes there and they were very very qualitative. The whole place is very high end and you can tell this place takes its job very seriously, its not a cute casual chaotic endeavor. The layout of the shop is somewhat confusing as it is very long and the more intricate pastries are at the front but there’s more at the very back also? I never ate anything in there as there never seemed to be an actual seating room. Maybe that was pre covid? Anyways i recommend this, it is hands down one fo the best high end pastry shops...

One goes to Kuyt for apple schnit (an apple slice with almonds that a bit to sweet very very good) and almond filled cookies ( one of the best dutch treats, and kuyt makes the best). One never went to kuyt for the service which was grumpy on a normal day and formal on the best but the new staff member has broken the boundry and entered into rudeness ... I was disappointed by the chocolate ganache cake as it didnt any taste at all - mostly foamy and sweet (sugar is not a taste btw...) I went to something relatively classy and above average market price for Amsterdam and in the end just got charged for the birthday candles going with it (yes 40 cents will make you grow faster).
