Since this place is listed as a restaurant, I have to give two stars because of the food. The service was great, and if you want a beer and some chips I cannot recommend it highly enough.

If, however, your intent is to eat - go somewhere else. I ordered the soup of the day - a bisque that was mostly butter - and then the portobello mushroom and risotto. I cannot stress enough how poorly this dish was prepared. Firstly, the plate was scalding hot; a sure sign someone had made a mistake and left it too long, thereafter trying to convince the customer of heat with a hot plate. Sure enough, the mushrooms and melted taleggio were lukewarm. I ate them anyway because I don’t like waste. The risotto underneath was actually mashed rice. I’ve never seen that before. It was warmer than the mushrooms above it due to its proximity to the molten plate below, but this did nothing to distract from the fact that it was MASHED RICE. I couldn’t eat it. Please someone talk to the chef and check if they are ok and happy in their work, because no self-respecting cook should send that out and if they do they’re having some sort of a bad time. Anyway, as I said; nice place to have a beer and the chips...

We went there because of recommendations of my friends
 and then the show started
firstly they couldn’t find our reservation we made online so set us at a random table. We were served by very scared young boy
who asked what we would like to drink. We ordered an expensive wine
he brought it already open to our table
so I’m not sure they don’t mix the leftovers although the top of the bottle looked like he was fighting with the corkscrew for hours. We never got our water
were sitting there for half our, never got the menu while the owner was happily walking around. A lot of guests who came after us were served, got the menu, some of them even food. I got up, went to the guy and kindly asked for the menus
the guy totally ignored me, just went for a chitchat to...

We krijgen allebei buikkrampen.

Restaurant Van Beeren is a very special place in Amsterdam. For years this restaurant has been serving dishes from the French kitchen but is now more European oriented. And every day they serve a tasteful dish of the day. The atmosphere is that of an old Dutch pub where it is very pleasant to stay. Price and quality of the dishes are good! In addition to food, there is also room at the bar for a beer. And in the summer there is the unique garden with terrace! I really like to drink a Leffe beer and toast to the very nice and service-oriented staff!

The best restaurant we visited during our short stay in Amsterdam. The prices were much lower, about half the price of other places in tourist areas. The food was very tasty. It was actually the first restaurant we tried in Amsterdam, and after that, no other place could compare. The other restaurants were more expensive and the food wasn’t as good. The service here was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. They even gave us free starters, which no other restaurant did. We really enjoyed eating here and would definitely recommend it :)

This is a special place. There is a friendly buzz, and friendly, helpful staff serve excellent food. My wife had snails as a starter, I enjoyed the herring tartare. Both v. good. For the main course, my wife had steak, which came medium rare, as requested. I had the beef stew: beef cheek, I think, which was delicately spiced and so tender you could eat it with a fork. I was accompanied by delicious red cabbage and a few other veg. Chips were historic. We shared the cheese course for dessert. Good selection of wines by the glass.
