Not great at all.
I really think there is something wrong with the people that gave all the high ratings. Or they might have simply been payed to write a good review or something?
The food we had was unimaginative, bland and sometimes too salty. Just not bad enough to send the food back but we were still kind of unhappy that we were going to have to pay the bill. My girlfriend told me that the pasta that I make at home is way better than what they served us.
Until this evening I did not know that it be possible to mess up something straightforward as insalata caprese and profiteroles. But the former was just way too tasteless and the profiteroles were soft (not fresh at all), their filling was slightly sour (in a bad way), the chocolate sauce was from a bottle and the whipped cream came from one of those instant whipped cream cans. I guess that if absolutely nothing is either home made or even freshly made, the profiteroles end up tasting like they did.
The girls waiting tables were friendly but when the place filled itself (mostly with tourists) the two of them could not keep up at all.
Even though they probably mean well, we'll not be back ever. And nor should you go to this place. You can do a lot better in...

Menu is extensive with pastas, meat based mains and pizza. Tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffle was amazing. Many of us tried it and we all agreed it was the bomb. Lasagna was also one of the best that person ever had. The spaghetti bolognese was very popular with three of us. Pizzas were super too. Crust and sauce and cheese were well balanced. Just really good. No one had anything bad to say at all. House red wine was well liked. Lemoncellos at the end with complements of the restaurant was a nice finishing touch. Prices were reasonable as well considering the quality of the food.
My mom who travels quite a bit said it was one of the best meals she’s ever had on any of her trips. Wish we could go back but we move on tomorrow. But if you’re saying close by and not sure what to try,...
Read moreCasual, cozy, and bursting with flavor—Sapore Italiano is the trattoria you hope to stumble upon in every city. With dishes like pistachio gnocchi and perfectly blistered calzones, it’s an ode to simple, authentic Italian cooking. It’s not flashy. It’s not fussy. It’s the kind of place where the server smiles as they pour your house wine and the pasta tastes like something your nonna might make. It reminded me of Trattoria Misericordia in Venice, from the rustic charm to the owner. Just a short stroll from Central Station, it’s the kind of place that invites you in with the aroma of fresh herbs and the comforting clatter of cutlery and conversation. I couldn’t resist the bolognese, a daily special that tasted as indulgent as it sounds—pillowy soft and coated in a creamy, nutty sauce that felt like a warm hug. If you’re craving a simple, soulful Italian meal that transports you back to Italy, Sapore Italiano...
