We were the only people in there. My companion wanted to get the shared mezze's cos they thought that would be a better deal - the portions apart from the salad were really small. My companion ended up eating 2/3 if not 3/4 of the food and was still hungry so imagine how I felt. I don't feel like there was enough of anything to be able to tell you how good it was. For me it was under temperature, I think it's hard to tell the taste of chilled food. It looks good and my mate said they been there before and really rated it The guy serving us was sweet and very polite and gave good service - including a free dessert (unfortunately I don't do desserts but I had taste - not my thing) but my companion ate hers and half of mine I think for most people (with the dessert) it would have been a sufficient lunch. But not cheap at over 15E with a drink and definitely not filling. Eating in ethnic cafe's in Amsterdam used to be 'goedkoop en lekker veel' Not any more! Forget your belly - eat...

I had one main dish and one dessert. For the main dish, I had a Syrian cuisine dish called Bamia which is okra in tomato sauce served with rice. It was something I have never tasted and it was wonderful. Even the rice was something different as it had vermicelli in it. For dessert, I had halawet jebneh which is a cream cheese-filled semolina pastry that is dipped in rosewater. Again, it was something new and it tasted brilliant. The only thing I had to complain about was the service as they had seated me below the stairs and eventually forgot that I was eating there. It took them more than 30 minutes after completing my mains to ask for my dessert order. Apart from the service, it...

Booked a table for 3 and had ordered the ShamRoyal platter (for 2 people at the cost of 70eur) with the intention to split 3 ways and if we’re still hungry to order more afterwards. The food was great and there was a lot we weren’t able to finish. Come to pay and see that our order was ShamRoyal for 3 people at around 100eur. We did not ask for larger portions and we weren’t asked or told we would receive more food to try and accomodate us 3. In the moment it was really awkward and uncomfortable to point this out as we did get more food. Please be wary and clear about your orders to avoid something...

Fantastic! I had spotted this place by the reviews and it totally lived up to expectations. The staff was friendly and caring, providing us with a bit of an intro to Syrian food. We settled on a large selection of smaller plates so we could try many different things and very much enjoyed the rich flavors. The drinks menu is alcohol free but contains excellent home made lemonades 🍋 Everything's vegetarian, and most items are vegan (or can be made so). Definitely would return. They have two other locations in the city which I believe do carry alcohol and have meat on the menu, if that's important.

Spectacular food and wonderful warm service. The staff was very friendly, explained all the dishes to us and even made adjustments for my allergies. We had the mixed platter to share so we can enjoy pretty much everything on the menu. It was a bit much for 2 people to be honest, but everything was so good I’m still glad we got to try everything and we just took the leftovers home. Make sure to leave space for dessert too, it’s really worth it! The Syrian music in the background creates the perfect ambiance and wasn’t too loud or distracting.
