I have been visiting Mesut for as long as Mesut has existed. The tent has recently had new owners and chefs. Mesut used to be one of the best grill restaurants in Amsterdam for me. It has been that way for years and the reason that I was a guest here every week. Until yesterday. I sat on the terrace with my wife and child. The waiter arrived, dragging a smoke of pungent cleaner with him. When the food arrived, it turned out that everything smelled of cleaning agent: the sauce bottles, the eating utensils, the plates and even my sandwich. I went in and said I really couldn't eat my sandwich. However, years of loyalty to Mesut was "rewarded" with rudeness. The manager stated that I wanted to eat for free, that the detergent smell was rubbish, etcetera. I asked the waiter in front of the manager if he was spraying with detergent all day long. The waiter nodded. However, the wife and child had eaten their portion. At checkout, my untouched sandwich was simply on the receipt! I then let the best man know that he could choose: either I would pay nothing or he would immediately take my sandwich off the bill. He wisely chose the latter option. After years of being a customer here, I will close this chapter. Mistakes can be made anywhere, but the rudeness of a restaurant in a complaint is beyond the limit of decency and time to find another restaurant. Sefa can be found in the same street. Wow. Neither have I. Well enjoy this place's kebab with ingredients described above + 5 sauces that you get to put on top yourselves!
Not happy? I guess you should be happy that the bathroom is ONLY 50 cents and the meat still has some good ol blood in it because otherwise you might think it's growing off of a tree.
