Ate dinner there on a Saturday evening. Small but nice looking place.
They didn’t have an English menu so we had to use Google Translate. It’s okay but would be easier for future non-Dutch speaking customers if they have one.
We ordered and our whole table asked for water. The female server said that she would bring the water. Some time went and we still didn’t get our water so we asked the server again for some water and some glasses. She came back after like 5 minutes and gave us a jug of water and no glasses. We kindly asked her for some glasses and a spoon when she came with the food and she said that she would bring us some. After more than 5 minutes we became frustrated and went and got our own glasses. During the whole meal she never brought us a spoon and the only time she asked us about our experience was when we were leaving.
The penne tomato pasta and the shrimp pasta was nice but the Gorgonzola pasta wasn’t anything special. The buratta was ok but the bread was really hard.
The food was nice but the service ruined the whole mood. We felt like we weren’t welcomed. If I visit this place next time I’m in Amsterdam I hope the service...
Read moreQuite a disappointing birthday dinner, especially for the price. I’m gluten intolerant, so I asked what dishes could be made gluten free. I was told all of them except the ravioli, which is understandable, so I excitedly ordered the gnocchi as I rarely get to have it. When it arrived, the waiter charmingly said “Here’s your gnocchi! But, it’s not gnocchi anymore, it’s penne.” Why wasn’t I warned of this when I was ordering? Plus there were only 4 prawns on the whole plate - for the price I expected way more. I don’t like to kick up a fuss and I didn’t want to put a downer on my own birthday so I just kept quiet and ate it but a week later I’m realising how disappointed I was. My partner had a pistachio spaghetti dish that was just laden with large chunks of garlic. He loves garlic but this was way over the top, he could barely taste the pistachio and other flavours and ended up leaving most of his meal. Overall, quite disappointing and idk why this place has so much...
Read moreThe place is usually very crowded and it's not possible to make a reservation. On spring and summer days there's additional seating outside, which is lovely, whereas on the inside one can sit at a common table or on a stool, which is not that cozy. The menu is okay, with a couple of specials among pretty standard Italian dishes. The worst part is the service: the good-looking blond waiters are more interested to hit on the young female customers than managing the seating and the orders. I stood like a fool waiting for a waiter to move a couple of customers and let us have a seat (after some complaining) and when I thought the seat was for us he told us rudely to let another customer take it. Fortunately the other customer was decent enough to let this waiter know that we were first. Not a...
