We went to the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The mood was light, so it was quite unexpected to be greeted by a not very friendly waitress. We were seated at the table and given only a wine list. We ordered a sparkling wine and had to ask for the menu of the kitchen - no one remembered that they forgot to bring it. We ordered appetizers, salad, second courses. After croquettes and olives, we waited over 40 minutes for our burrata salad. 40 minutes to serve fermented tomatoes and cheese on a plate is a very long time. It was delicious, but the wait ruined the experience. Then the gnocchi arrived. The dish was absolutely over-salted, it was impossible to recognize any flavors other than the taste of salt hitting the receptors. Yes, we understood that salted brisling was in the mix. But that had to be compensated for with other textures somehow. We got salted gnocchi in salted fish. It wasn't tasty at all. The waiters didn't come up to ask how it was going, or warn us about delays. But they had time to eat the cheesecake and to chat with the cooks. Next, we wanted to order dessert, but in a long time no one has come to us. As a result, we decided that the best dessert is served at home. We took the unfinished wine and left earlier than planned. The final straw was the bill. Along with the check, they bring mints. Instead of two, they brought one candy and one torn wrapper. No one even checked it out. This is a fiasco. I sincerely don't understand why the restaurant was added to any guides and has good reviews. Bad food, slow service, unfriendly atmosphere. I don't...
Read moreI ordered a four course meal. They brought the first course for me and then forgot to bring the rest, we waited 30 minutes and nobody even checked on us or asked us if we were ok, I had to get up and ask a waitress to bring the rest, no apology, then had to ask another person what the delay was... they eventually figured that someone forgot to put the rest through but miraculously didn’t check on us in all that time, in total spoke to five staff to get any kind of answer. They then had to begin cooking the food... My elderly mother spent most of the evening hungry and waiting for food. They brought her some extra bread (small portion) but she ended up after an hour only having eaten bread and olives. All she had ordered was a lasagne! When her lasagne came, it was burned (see photo). Apologies from the young staff seemed insincere, like they were just trying to get through the evening and go home. When I asked to speak to a manager the person who spoke to me was young and dressed like the waitresses with apron so I don’t even think they gave me the manager. My courses were fine but the service completely let us down and did not befit the price. I simply cannot recommend this to anybody else and I will...
Read moreFirst time was good. Second time was average. For the price quality ration not sure I want to test it three times. Ordered the fried spiering which was ok but hard to find inside a forest of arugula (which is not even mentioned on the dish) and the burrata which in the dish is really an flattened accessory of the dish rather than being the dish itself as described. The arancini were ok but honestly this is hard to miss dish. My son ordered the Tagliata.. got 5 lonely slivers of steak that were covered with arugula (again) ... he was very disappointed by the size and said the steak was chewy - indeed it was the end cut and looked like left over. For €22.50 you expect a lot more and certainly a lot better (in amsterdam). I had the tagliatelle with ragu... was well prepared and cooked but surprised to get the dish with parmesan already on top (although mentioned this way on menu) ... this is a ritual one likes to do when dish is served not beforehand. My son did not want any desert... he was ready to shed his tears at Massimo Gelato instead. Note for restaurant owners: Stop being complacent of your success and make a bit of an effort - I am sure you aspire to do...
