Everywhere we ate (and would recommend) in Amsterdam 🤤🍱 A huge thank you to everyone who gave me recommendations for restaurants on our visit. All of them were fantastic and you can be trusted. All places in order: @secretgarden_amsterdam - came for the aesthetic, stayed for the food. The most gorgeous restaurant serving Asian inspired cuisine in a glorious garden setting. The most expensive place we visited but worth every penny. @paindemie_amsterdam - the ultimate sandwich restaurant. Settle into their gorgeous speakeasy for some amazing cocktails, followed by the most delicious toasted sandwiches I’ve ever had. Also try the French toast for dessert! @vanwonderenstroopwafels - a must try while in Amsterdam. Glorious, chocolate dipped stroopwafels with a variety of toppings. The perfect sweet treat. @fabelfriet - Everyone raves about the frites in Amsterdam, and while these didn’t blow my mind, they were delicious. And for €3.95 a portion you really can’t go wrong with this cheap eat. @ijscuypjeamsterdam - great ice cream. Need I say more? @thepancakebakery - Absolutely worth queuing for. These pancakes cook the toppings into the pancake itself and they are truly incredible. #visitamsterdam #iamsterdam #amsterdamfood #amsterdamfoodguide #amsterdamfoodie #missjordaninamsterdam

The Pancake Bakery in Amsterdam is a quintessential restaurant that should not be missed during any trip to the city. My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting this delightful establishment several times during our four-day stay, and each time we were treated to a wonderful dining experience. We decided to try a variety of pancakes from their extensive menu, and we were not disappointed. From the classic ham, cheese, and onion pancake to the more adventurous ham, cheese, and mushroom combination, every pancake we tried was simply delicious. We also indulged in the Belgian Sweet pancakes, which were a delightful treat for our sweet tooth. Whether savory or sweet, the Pancake Bakery's pancakes were top-notch. One of the standout aspects of our visits was the incredibly friendly and hospitable staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and made to feel like we were part of the family. Their attentiveness and genuine care for our dining experience added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meals. Aside from the fantastic pancakes, the Pancake Bakery also offered a wide selection of drinks. We couldn't resist trying the iconic Heineken beer, which paired perfectly with our savory pancakes. Additionally, their coffees were a real treat, especially when they were served with a delightful accompaniment of Dutch stroopwafles. It was a true delight to savor these traditional Dutch treats alongside our steaming cups of coffee. Location-wise, the Pancake Bakery couldn't be more convenient. It is situated just steps away from the famous Anne Frank House, making it an ideal stop for a delicious meal before or after visiting the historic site. The option of outside seating was also a plus, allowing us to enjoy our pancakes while taking in the charming atmosphere of Amsterdam. All in all, no trip to Amsterdam would be complete without a visit to the Pancake Bakery. The delectable pancakes, friendly staff, and fantastic location make it a must-visit restaurant. Whether you're in the mood for a savory pancake or a sweet treat, this cozy establishment is sure to leave you satisfied and craving for more.

Honestly, i can't sum up my amazing experience at Pancake Bakery in just this one review! I had an incredibly wonderful time, and the food was definitely worth raving about! 💖 Having found out about Pancake Bakery through several travel vlogs and online recommendations, i had plenty expectations to be met. Within these expectations i usually have of popular restaurants, i almost always think service will usually be a bit dry considering how busy the place gets but that was the complete opposite of what i experienced in Pancake Bakery! 💖 💖 Despite waiting in line to be seated, we are quickly entertained by a server and they offered water bowls for our dogs right away! 💖 Our server, Jazz, and two others were very attentive and accommodating, i cannot stress this enough, it's such a nice change for a popular restaurant! 💖 Our orders were also served in a timely fashion and everything was delicious. The servings were hefty and personally, i think one order is good for sharing! The savory options were as tasty as the sweet. The clear standouts from me would have to be their signature plates! The Indonesian and Dutch pancake specials were definitely something I've never had before. If i would have to comment on something: the pancakes actually feel more like crepes with how think they were. This is not such a bad thing as it did complement the dish but it's not your typical thick pancakes! I definitely recommend this place and i will surely return the next time im in Amsterdam again! 💖 Believe the hype, this place has it 💖

People queue up here, as you can see, because pancakes are really good. So… a solid 8/10 for the pancakes. However, that’s where the problems start with this establishment: for a place with that rating and literally people queuing up in front of it every day, they should’ve figured out a better ventilation system by now. We were sat in the back of the restaurant, which was shaped like a long corridor. The whole area in which we were sat, was covered in smoke from preparation of the pancakes. We also had to wait at least 30-45 min to be served, which wouldn’t be an issue, if you wouldn’t be literally sat into the ventilation-corridor of the restaurant. So anyway… after having eaten there, we surely must have smelled like the chef himself when his shift ends. So…. They should definitely do something about this. But the product itself was really good. So… maybe just grab the pancakes and eat at the canal?! They also had outside tables but considering the popularity of the store, I can’t speak to the availability or waiting time of those. Probably the most desired places for people who would like to eat there but don’t want to smell like the literal pancake factory itself lol.

Decent food first and foremost. A bit pricey but i guess that's to be expected. Does feel touristy but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. However, the service was subpar at best. Small queue when i arrived on a weekday morning, got sat and ignored for 20 minutes before i flagged down a server (they were busy at the time, so i assumed it was due to that). Apparently no one was assigned to me. Ordered and waited another 20~ minutes for food (which isn't bad). I got the french onion soup starter and the dutch pancakes. They brought both out at once, and I had to quickly eat the soup while the ice cream on the pancakes was melting. I will say they offered to remake the pancakes and bring them out after I finished the soup, but i didn't really want to wait another 20 minutes. After I finished, I waited another 10-15 minutes for someone to grab a check for me with no luck, before I just flagged down another server and asked for it. Unlucky experience, not sure what happened. I've worked in restaurants before so i get it. Still feels abnormal even then. Left a bitter taste but i'll give three stars to the food, which was worth it.
