Unfortunately, what started as high hopes for a memorable dining experience ended in mixed results. The restaurant boasts a lovely atmosphere, and our Italian waiter was genuinely professional and courteous throughout the evening, though clearly stretched thin by the demands of the busy service.
However, the evening faced significant operational hurdles. Kitchen mishaps resulted in burned bread and stone cold meat (I understand it needs to rest, but not quite that long), while supply issues left portions of the menu unavailable. Our two-course dinner stretched to two hours, and the hectic environment made it impossible to provide real-time feedback or even get the waiter’s attention when needed.
When our dessert orders (placed at the start of dinner) also fell through and we encountered a billing error of €180, it became clear this was a challenging night for everyone involved.
Our waiter candidly explained during payment that the problems stemmed from being understaffed, which explained the service delays and his limited availability throughout the evening. A simple heads-up about potential delays would have helped manage our expectations and allowed us to adjust accordingly.
We had driven 110 kilometers specifically for this restaurant, drawn by an attractive Amex dining offer and ready to enjoy wine and extras. While the busy atmosphere prevented us from ordering additional items, the core food quality showed genuine promise when imagined served at proper temperature.
The restaurant clearly has strong foundations—quality ingredients, dedicated staff, and appealing ambiance. With adequate staffing and operational refinements, this establishment could easily deliver the exceptional experience its potential suggests.
While this particular visit didn’t meet expectations, the underlying quality gives reason for cautious optimism about future visits under better...

Me and my partner were visiting Amsterdam where we’ve had a lovely time and the food has been amazing! Safe to say that’s what we was expecting when we made a reservation for this place. That is not what we got.
Firstly we were greeted by a member of staff and shown to our table when there was only a wine menu, we don’t drink wine. We asked to see the cocktail menu and the waiting said would you like to see the menu, he went away and grabbed a menu only to come back and say the bartender is not in today so they cannot make the drinks to how they should be made.. they did say they would try there best if we did want one. But I was not willing to spend 15 euros on a cocktail that isn’t made correctly. Anyway we let it go and ordered 2 soft drinks. We ordered a starter which was lovely and well priced. Then our mains came out I ordered the ribeye and my partner ordered the tenderloin..
The ribeye was tasteless, dry and cold, pepper sauce was cold.. my partners steak was cold too. Now obviously the waiter did not come back to ask how our food was so I just left it, left most of my steak on the plate and just ate my fries..
The waiter collected our plates and asked how was our food, so I told the waiter I wasn’t impressed etc that it was cold and tasteless he then when and spoke to the manager to see what he could do. He came back with 2 options..
One being our drinks wouldn’t be charged for or two we could have a free desert. Obviously I was disappointed with what he came back to me with as I had to pay full price for my steak that I hardly touched. I ordered the desert and my partner shared the cheesecake (which is the only reason I haven’t given a 1 star review for the food as the cheesecake was amazing.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone wanting to try out steak in this area, there’s far more better options locally that don’t even compete to...
Read moreWe chose Uptown Meat Club because it was close to our hotel and allowed walk-ins without a reservation. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations, starting with the service.
When I requested my steak to be cooked medium, there seemed to be some miscommunication. Although the doneness levels were explained on the menu, it took a while for the waitress to understand, and I had to point it out. This interaction felt a bit awkward, and I suspect there might have been a language barrier.
As for the food, it was disappointing. My steak, which I ordered medium, arrived well-done and lacked flavor. My partner and I had specifically chosen this restaurant hoping for a higher-quality dining experience, but we regretted not opting for a more reliable option.
The wine selection added to the frustration. We initially chose a wine made from three different grape varieties listed on the menu. However, it wasn’t available, and the suggested alternative was described as “similar.” When we asked about the grape varieties in the new option, we couldn’t get a clear answer. Upon checking the label ourselves, we realized it was a completely different wine with only two grapes. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing.
Overall, the experience fell short in both service and food quality. While the location is convenient, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant or...
