A Whimsical Delight: A Perfect 5-Star Experience at The Burger Room
Review:
If you're looking for a dining experience that seamlessly blends sophistication, nostalgia, and culinary excellence, then look no further than The Burger Room. This enchanting establishment transports its guests to a world of charm and wonder, tastefully incorporating elements from "The Wizard of Oz" film into its chic theme and atmosphere. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a treat.
The ambiance at The Burger Room is simply mesmerizing. The attention to detail in the décor, inspired by "The Wizard of Oz," creates a whimsical and captivating atmosphere. The tasteful integration of iconic elements from the film transports guests to the enchanting land of Oz without feeling overwhelming. Every corner of the restaurant boasts an inviting ambiance that immerses you in a journey through the Emerald City.
Now, let's talk about the main attraction: the food. I had the pleasure of ordering the Scarecrow burger, and it was a taste sensation that left me crowing like Lil Uzi. The burger was a culinary masterpiece, expertly crafted with a juicy, flavorful patty, topped with a unique combination of fresh and delicious ingredients. The Scarecrow burger struck the perfect balance between textures and flavors, leaving my taste buds dancing with delight.
The accompanying side of fries was a perfect complement to the Scarecrow burger. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these golden sticks of potato perfection were simply irresistible. They were expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection, making them the ideal partner for the star of the show—the burger itself.
The service at The Burger Room deserves high praise. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They were more than willing to answer any questions I had about the menu and provided helpful recommendations. The waitstaff exuded professionalism while maintaining a warm and welcoming demeanor, which added to the overall dining experience.
The only minor drawback at The Burger Room was the pricing. While the quality of the food and the exceptional service justified the cost, it would be remiss not to mention that it leans toward the higher end. However, considering the overall experience and the attention to detail put into every aspect of the restaurant, it's a small trade-off for such a memorable evening.
In conclusion, The Burger Room is a truly remarkable dining destination that effortlessly blends sophistication, whimsy, and culinary excellence. The ambiance and décor transport you to the magical world of "The Wizard of Oz," while the Scarecrow burger and its delectable sides tantalize your taste buds. With impeccable service and attention to detail, The Burger Room delivers an unforgettable dining experience. While it may be slightly pricey, it's worth every penny for the memories and culinary journey it provides. I cannot recommend this enchanting restaurant highly enough, and I am already eagerly planning my next visit to The...
Read moreThe Burger Room in Amsterdam immediately grabs your attention with its inviting and stylish ambiance. Nestled in a charming part of the city, it boasts a cozy, well-designed interior that makes you feel like you’re in for a treat. The warm lighting, chic decor, and intimate vibe create the perfect setting for what you’d hope to be a delightful dining experience. Sadly, the initial excitement doesn’t last, as the food falls far short of expectations. Let’s talk about the burgers, which are supposed to be the star of the show. Unfortunately, they fail to deliver on almost every front. The first thing you notice is the bun—it was served cold and had an overly dense, "bready" texture that overwhelmed the other ingredients. A good burger bun should complement the filling, not overshadow it, but here, the bread felt like a chore to get through. This was just the beginning of the disappointment.
The overall taste of the burger was bland and lacked any memorable flavors. The ingredients didn’t seem to work together harmoniously, creating a disjointed experience with each bite. Some burgers had an excessive amount of sauce, while others were dry and under-seasoned. The patty itself, arguably the most important element, lacked depth and seasoning, making the whole thing feel like a missed opportunity. For a restaurant that focuses on burgers, this imbalance was glaring and hard to overlook.
Adding to the frustration was the price. The Burger Room charges a premium for its food, but what you get doesn’t come close to justifying the cost. A burger that lacks flavor, paired with cold bread and uninspiring toppings, doesn’t warrant the hefty price tag. It felt like you were paying more for the trendy setting than the food itself, which left a bad taste in more ways than one.
Additionally, the speed at which the food arrived raised eyebrows. While quick service is usually a plus, in this case, it suggested that much of the food was pre-made rather than freshly cooked to order. This approach undermines the idea of enjoying a carefully crafted burger made with care.
It’s worth mentioning that the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is genuinely appealing. If you’re just looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a drink, The Burger Room might still fit the bill. However, if your goal is to enjoy a top-notch burger, you’ll likely leave disappointed.
In summary, The Burger Room is a place that looks the part but doesn’t deliver where it counts. The cozy and stylish ambiance draws you in, but the burgers—cold buns, lack of flavor, and an imbalance of ingredients—leave much to be desired. Coupled with the steep prices and pre-made feel of the food, it’s hard to recommend this spot for a satisfying meal.
Amsterdam has a thriving food scene with plenty of great burger options, so it’s worth exploring elsewhere if you’re after something...

There was nothing obscene or violating any policies in our review which we are reposting in full again and will keep reposting cos censorship is just so pathetic. Originally posted in Jan 2023: Wish we were better prepared and read the reviews before we ate here but we were just off the plane, very hungry and this place was next to our hotel. As everyone mentions, you get charged for tap water (7€) and 15% service, which for us resulted in an extra 22€ we didn't know we were overcharged for. We got ambushed before we even sat down with "the water question" and responded with "sure, just tap water pls" assuming you get a standard pitcher as is customary in any decent restaurant. If they were gonna charge you for it, it would've been fair to say it or indicate on the menu. We were sat in a tiny dark corner although the place was closing in an hour and there were literally just 2 tables occupied - there was better seating available by the windows but we weren't allowed to sit there. The water arrived in (an opened) bottle and this is where we realised we were probably going to pay for it, but didn't expect that it would cost as much as 0,4 l draft beer. Because it was so dark we struggled to read the menu and were kind of shocked when the bill arrived at the end of the evening. I have saved the bill cos something just felt off, and it wasn't before we were back at the hotel that we could inspect the bill properly. This is were we saw how much we were charged for water and the shocking 15% service charge which was not even mentioned. I've been coming to the Netherlands for the past 10 years and have never experienced such a thing. We felt tricked out of our money and the whole experience left a really...
