Stopped in for breakfast before the Van Gogh museum. The peach pancake was great, the service was horrible. I asked for tap water, the waitress told me they only give tap water if you order another beverage (coffee etc) because “all the tourists want tap water” and she continued on to say that anywhere you go in Europe they will not give you tap water (which is funny considering this is the first place that has refused to serve me tap water). My friend then ordered a hot chocolate and asked for tap water with her drink - and they refused to give it to her because they didn’t want me to drink it. About 15 mins later a different waitress brought us both water unprompted. Really odd experience, definitely wouldn’t go back.

We visited a cafe yesterday. The service and the atmosphere were pleasant. The French soup was awesome. However, what surprised us was the pancake service. Although it is not an expensive meal, the way it is presented seems substandard to me. I have been working in a restaurant for years, and apart from the fact that it is uneconomical, it is very unflattering and especially humiliating from the guest's side. I also noticed that when serving cutlery to the table, the staff held them from the side that is being consumed, which is also not very hygienic. (I recommend gloves).

A nice spot to visit, just around the corner from the Van Gogh museum. The food was ok, but it has the feel of a nice traditional bar & the beer was enjoyable. The place serves both food and drink, but have a plan B before visiting as it can be extremely busy and you may not have the opportunity to sit down for food. The staff were pleasant, and always willing to help. The place was jam-packed to its limit, only appeared to have 3 people to take orders, clean/set the tables and serve - credit goes out to them as they didn't seem to have a second to breathe!

Been there twice and one of the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. This place has a restaurant and a coffee bar and both have an owner, who is rude, yelling and customers (not only me but also others around him) where he seems to lack normal social abilities.

First time I visited and ate a meal (which was decent but also had hair in it…) the owner was rude and snappy for no reason whatsoever. I remember leaving with a feeling of not being welcome and felt he was constantly looking over our shoulder.

The next time, I came in with a friend and asked if we could order food and a drink but that I went to get a beverage another place as I needed something vegan and do not drink coffee. One of the nice ladies working there said that it should be a problem and next thing as my friend and I sat down and had ordered a white (“Karen” type of older woman) came up and was mad about it this having been allowed to drink it there, and next thing we know the owner (the man) comes over, yelled loudly at us, threw us out and even laid his hands on my friend (a 20 year old girl)! He then openend the door to push us out the door and even threatened by suddenly slamming the door in our faces while trying to leave.

The most disgusting behaviour I have encountered in. The Netherlands so far.

I recommend no one to visit this...

We were not welcomed upon our arrival. Instead were rudely prompted to sit. Waited a long time for the waitress to check with us then a long time to take our orders. Not asked if we need water or anything to drink. The food was ready fast but lasagna was cold as if it was out of the fridge and microwaved for a few seconds. The steak was more like boiled beef or something and didn't taste that good. Again cold. Only the fries was ok. I wanted to raise concern but the waitress never showed up again a single time to ask if we needed anything. They obviously cared about local customers spending a lot of time talking to them while completely ignoring us. We wanted to order dessert as well but the waitress never checked with us and we decided to not waste anymore money there. Waited 10 min or so to understand we need to pay by the cashier. I had such a bad experience and now think is this the case in all restaurants in the Netherlands and if this is the hospitality they offer to all foreigners? Anyway avoid this place as the food is terrible and the service is even worse. Save your money and go...

Was a rather unpleasant experience dining here for lunch. I see from the other reviews that other people also complained about the staff. I don't recommend eating here -- lots of choices around the area. Prices are high for the quality of food and the staff were SO unpleasant!

The only reason we sat down at this restaurant was because it was a nice sunny day and we managed to get a table outside, and we didn't want to change to another resto to save time. I went inside myself to get some menus and let them know we were seated outside -- service was slow the whole time we sat there, and anytime we tried to get their attention they acted like we were bothering them. Some other ladies sat at the table next to us, and we recommended that they let the staff know they were there and wanted to order, but they also came back saying the staff were rude and were probably 'having a bad day' - those ladies left without ordering.

Food wise menu doesn't offer much choice. We had a burger and the fish and both were decent but not great. Enjoyed the outdoor table, but left feeling like we were treated...
