We were in Aruba for 2 weeks to celebrate our 50th. Anniversary. We visited King Fred & Princess Diana Restaurant on December 14/23 for dinner. We decided to order 2 of their Chicken Parmesans. These were definitely not Chicken Parmesans, as it consisted of Boiled chicken breasts in what looked like Tomato soup with vegetables and Pasta. These dishes were absolutely tasteless, not what we envisioned Chicken Parmesans should look and taste like. We took one bite and could bring ourselves to eat anymore. When our Waitress came around to our table and ask us how our meal was, we were very honest with her and explained these dishes didn't remotely taste or looked anything like Chicken Parmesan. She offered to take the nearly untouched plates of the so-called Chicken Parmesan and asked if there was another dish we would like to try. We mentioned that we would try the Chicken Cordon Blue instead. She said OKAY and went back to request the Chef prepare us this alternate dish. I believe the Chef might have been one of the Owners (King Fred). The waitress returned to our table and informed us that the Chef refused to make us any alternate dishes and we would have to pay for both of the Chicken Parmesan dishes that was returned barely touched. Not wanting to cause a scene, I agreed to pay the bill and cut our loses. A little while later she came back to our table and indicated that the Chef would only Comp us for one dish, even though we barely touched either dish. We paid for the one dish and left for another restaurant, as we were starving. Needless to say, this is the worst food we had eaten in our 38 years of visiting Aruba. We would definitely not return to this establishment and absolutely not recommend King Fred & Princess Diana to anyone...

Every time we visit Aruba, a stop at King Fred and Princess Diana's is a tradition we wouldn't dream of skipping. Nestled inside the iconic red windmill.
Our absolute favorite dish is the Beef Wellington, a masterpiece that requires ordering at least a day in advance and serves 4 people. When it's just the two of us, we happily take leftovers to-go. Pairing the Beef Wellington with their famous Mustard Soup is a culinary experience that is simply unparalleled, this combo is hands-down my favorite meal on the island!
The drinks are great too, mojitos rank as my personal favorite.
Chef Fred is a true artist in the kitchen, crafting dishes with evident care and the freshest ingredients. The service team is equally exceptional, we have had Lucia many times—her warm and cheerful presence always adds to the dining experience.
We also love heading upstairs to Drinks with Frans for a post-dinner drink, soaking in the unique experience at the top of the windmill and visiting with Frans. We even tried a special liquor from Holland.
The breakfast is just as remarkable, with Diana’s Dutch Pancakes being a delightful way to start the day.
This is a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Aruba. We always leave with full hearts and even...
Read moreAugust 2023 My wife and I stopped for the breakfast. We looked at the menu outside of the restaurant. Suddenly, waiter came and said that they have delicious pancakes for breakfast. My wife asked him if pancakes are thick or thin. He responded:”Not too thick but not thin. We can fill in them with different stuffing inside. They are not thin. It’s not a crepes“ When we walked in just a few tables were seated. While we were waiting for our order we saw like people left food on their plates. When we got our order OMG it was thin crepes which also calls pancake but we asked thicker pancake like we confirmed with waiter before we walked in the restaurant. The waiter said:”it’s Dutch pancakes. Ok but it’s not what we expected! You can call them Dutch or Shmach or whatever you like, but it’s not a pancakes we like. My plate was cooked good, my wife’s pancake was a little raw on one side. We left the restaurant hungry and dissatisfied with food. Believe or not (never seen this in other restaurants) they offered water and they charged us 0.30 cents for two glasses of top water with ice. Shame! Never again and I...
