I visited this restaurant based on some of the good reviews and that it wasn't a usual "curry house" but with more of a contemporary feel.
However, it seemed apparent that my custom wasn't really wanted despite the restaurant being nearly empty. I was given minimal service while other tables were constantly being attended to, and also friendly conversations were being had. Staff walked past me to check in on other tables, without giving me a look. My order was not complex, nor did I bring any issues for them to treat me in such a way.
My meal was quite simple. A butter chicken. While the dish was great and was exactly what I expected in terms of flavour, thickness and consistency until I realised how spicy it was. I have never been served a butter chicken that is so spicy that you need to keep drinking water. Was this intentional? If a person of South Asian descent found the dish spicy, then I can only imagine what it would feel for a Western palate. In addition, I'm not sure if a cocktail stirrer stick should be left in my glass, which was also a wine glass and was difficult to drink out of.
Given the prices that they charged, I genuinely thought I would get a service that matched the price - which funnily enough, I did at other places in Eindhoven.
Long story short - I didn't feel wanted or valued...
Read moreA disappointing experience overall. The place is very loud due to the open kitchen and banging music. There is no physical menu, you'll have to scan the QR code on the table to see the menu online which is actually the website for ordering takout/pickup. It's inconvenient and lazy. The menu itself is rather limited, two chicken curries and two vegetarian curries as main course. Knowing that Indian restaurants in continental Europe tend to tone down the spice level to cater to local taste, I asked the kitchen to make some of the dishes I ordered extra spicy. Upon hearing my request, the waitress looked at me all baffled as if I had asked for an eggless omlette. Says she has to check with the kitchen to see if it is possible at all. This suggests the food is pre-cooked instead of cooked a la minute. 10 minutes later the food was served, and she confirmed to me that the kitchen had made my dishes extra spicy as requested. I was excited to dig in, but guess what: surprise surprise, this is the blandest curry I have ever had in a while. You can't smell or taste any spices, no depth, no flavor. All I could taste was a sugary tomato sauce from the butter chicken; and the dal makhani is a goopy soup of cream and butter. Furthermore the naan we ordered on the side was bland...
Read moreWe discovered this gem of a place while on a trip to Eindhoven, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. As lovers of Indian cuisine, we were blown away by the creativity and flavors packed into every course of their tasting menu.
I opted for the 6-course vegetarian meal, and every dish was a masterpiece—thoughtfully crafted, beautifully plated, and bursting with authentic spices that felt like a modern twist on traditional Indian flavors. Each bite was an experience in itself, with a perfect balance of textures and flavors.
My husband chose the 10-course non-vegetarian menu, and it was equally impressive. The variety and complexity of the dishes showcased an incredible depth of culinary skill. From the tender meats to the exquisite sauces, every course was perfectly paired and absolutely delicious.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience—cozy, elegant, and welcoming. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring we felt taken care of throughout the meal.
This was easily one of the best Indian dining experiences we’ve ever had, and we can’t recommend it enough. If you’re in Eindhoven and want to treat yourself to an unforgettable culinary journey, this is the...
