Previous week on thursday night around 19:00 at August the fifth of 2021 I had dinner at Takumi Ramen Kitchen Eindhoven, Kerkstraat 26, 5611 GJ Eindhoven.
Inside I was helped by a female staff member. She told me I was free to pick any table that wasn't occupied. So I sat down and quickly reviewed the menu. I discovered there were no signs on the menu that could notify costumers for any PEANUTS. I did find signs of SHRIMPS, PORK and NO-MEAT.
I explicitly stated I was allergic to any kind of PEANUT and needed her help to pick out a suitable meal that I can savor. The staff member couldn't figure it out herself, so I asked her if there was someone else who does know. She quickly went to the kitchen to check what dish does contain any PEANUTS.
She came back and told me there was ONLY ONE DISH that did contain PEANUTS: Tan-Tan-Men. Which of course I didn't pick! Any other dish did not contain PEANUTS(supposed to be).
I ordered: 1x Kirin Beer Small 0.30L 1x Spicy Ebi Kushi Kara Age Ramen 1x Takoyaki (see the receipt)
The beer came rather quickly and had to patiently wait for the meals.
The manager(an old women)came rushing out of the kitchen to deliver the ordered bowl of RAMEN and after that the Takoyaki came as well.
I took some pictures of my meals and started eating(see pictures of RAMEN and Takoyaki). Nothing happend. I did enjoy my RAMEN.
I was done and took a break. So I could focus on the appitizer Takoyaki. While I was trying to eat Takoyaki. I felt strange.
Hair on my back began to stand, goose bumps. Got it unpleasantly warm. My stomach was twisting. The inside of my lips began to swole and pinch very silently. Ears began to tintel. Headache and a strange urge to scratch.
Another staff member approaced me and asked how my experience was. I stated I felt sick and had a stomache, and was concerned of any PEANUT crossing my meal.
Quickly, the manager approached me and we had a brief discussion about the meals. I told her that I became concerned of any PEANUT crossing my meal. She stated confidently that my meal didn't contain any PEANUT. I let her be, I couldn't start a dicussion while becoming sick.
I went to find a bathroom downstairs and called a emergency line.
I proposed the emergency line that I could get home safely in time to get my (epi-pen)shot for the allergic reaction, but I've got to visit a hospital anyway because they have to monitor my health after the shot. I live approx. 1KM from Takumi Eindhoven.
The emergency line stated I'm not allowed to exit the restaurant.
Because they were about to send a ambulance to pick me up. The emergency line assigned me give the staff a heads up that if anything happends to me, they should call 112(Dutch Emergency Line), which I did. I went back upstairs and sat down near the front-exit to view any comming ambulance.
The manager approached me again and told me I was being a bother. She stated that previous costumers did enter with other allergies and nothing did happend to them. She accused of lies. While she, the manager, was the one denieng of any mistakes herself.
The ambulance came, I rushed to it. Followed by the manager. She yelled and accused me of everything that wasn't true. So I looked like a clown-act. The ambulance did a quick check-up and I had a discussion with them. They stated nothing out of the oirdinary was happening to me. To dissbelief, they couldn't help me! They did belief the manager that I was being a bother! The ambulance did a checkpoint in their register and ordered me to pay and go home fast, to take the shot myself! They even couldn't give me a ride! They accused me that I wasn't sober! I felt helpless!
I did pay(see receipt). And walked out crying and sick. People were laughing at me. I felt ashamed, angry and sad, while my life was at stake.
The second ambulance found me later in critical state on a bench.
Because what happend to me, is life threathening and unjust! I want full payback and a full apology for their responsibility!
This is no manner to treat any costumer! A...

We waited quite a while to have our order taken, then waited more time for the appetiser, and this is all normal at the lunch rush. But then we were asked to move tables since they had seated us at a four seat table, so that they could seat three new people who were waiting, since only a two seater table had just opened up. But this was after our drinks and appetiser had come and we were settled in...so it seemed a bit strange to ask us to move just so they could sell more. Ofcourse we agreed, but asked that at least they comp us a drink. But the waitress only laughed and walked away. Then when I mentioned it again when we were paying after the meal, she laughed again as if it was ridiculous to even ask they comp a drink. We ordered drinks, appetiser and two ramen soups while we were there, as usual, which is not a cheap lunch by any means, and yet the restaurant did not feel that giving us 5 euros in complimentary drinks was worth the extra money they made off moving us to a new table halfway through our visit so more people could fit into the restaurant. We don't care about the money, we think it is about the principle, that was missed by the waitress. Thank you for the tasty ramen over the years, we enjoyed it very much. But money isn't everything, and so we choose to find another restaurant to support that doesn't hold this "elitist" viewpoint of it's establishment, and remembers that customer support is the reason for success, as much as the menu. With a line outside the door we already know our support most likely won't be missed anyways....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally, a real ramen restaurant in Eindhoven! It's not even a week yet and it's already packed at 19h in the evening! They opened last Friday - 15th November.
Foodwise, they have more selection than other branches in Germany. They have curry, real takoyaki, donburi and many more.
We had Spicy Butatama Miso Ramen, chicken Kara-age curry, takoyaki and Gyoza. The Ramen broth and noodles were just as expected that it's almost comforting. It's the Takumi ramen that we know and love. The curry was delicious but I would certainly go for pork tonkatsu instead if they had it.
The takoyaki is delicious and amazing. First bite always burns your mouth, like biting into hell itself. It was so good though, but would be nice with the bonito flakes for authenticity.
They could really do something about the space. There's very limited seats and tables. Between 18.30 to 20.00, it's super crowded. There's gonna be a short line outside of the restaurant. Inside, the tables and chairs are so close together it's hard to squeeze through. I'm ok because I'm a short Asian girl, but others who were bigger than me had an uncomfortable time. The wait-staff also had a hard time trying to reach us because they cannot go through the tables and chairs in front of us.
Toilets are downstairs - not accessible because you have to use steep stairs.
Staff is friendly and will try to get you seats as soon as possible.
Wait time was fast - a pleasant surprise especially during a dinner rush. We didn't have to wait long for our food to be served - neither did the tables around us.
I do recommend. Please visit when you're...
