Boca Bar kitchen Tapa — Restaurant in Haarlem

Went for dinner the very last night of open restaurants before corona partial lockdown, the food was PERFECT and the staff was very nice and attentive, spent some time jocking and chatting with us, as well as telling us about the dishes when served. Booked with the fork and a discount in the reservation option, they were also on that very careful to explain us well how it worked, not trying to trick us into ordering what not included in the promotion at all!!! Only downfall was how the Corona measure were not being followed, We were seated at the bar and people from tables would often stand up and come ordering next to us, even leaning on the counter right next to us, that did upset us and so didn't help with the mood, especially when one having lungs conditions already! Excellent choice for a whole dinner, as well as for a wine and some nibbles, I loved the place and will definitely give it one...

One star because this establishment is discriminating against parents with babies. We were there for a drink, location is lovely. I went inside to change my baby but there was nothing in the bathroom. Then I asked if I can use the top of the wine fridge, and was told no, it's not hygienic because it's close to the kitchen. Then I asked if I can change the baby by the exit door on the floor, where there was a floor mat, to which I was also told no, because there are other guests (they were done eating and leaving the place actually). Extremely disappointed because I was not offered any other alternative like a place nearby where I can change her. Not even an apology. Nothing. So not welcoming of mothers and fathers of babies that are in diapers. Perhaps you can buy a 130€ changing table that hooks above the toilet. You are welcome for...

Excellent pinxos! I visited Bilbao a few years ago, and tasted a bunch of pinxos. Boca Bar is a great interpretation! It's almost as good as being in Bilbao.

The pinxos were delicious --- and the dishes are culinarily interesting. My wife liked the trout salad (forel), which tasted like something you would have in Bilbao. My favorite pinxo was the tuna tartare, which was topped with a very nice sauce but my favorite touch was the seaweed on top. Also, the burrata pinxo was incredible.

I'm telling you, this restaurant knows what it's doing! Loved it.

Beyond the food, it's a nice little place with a chill atmosphere. Quite intimate and low lit, so a reasonable place for a date but also catching up with a friend. Every city should have a place like this! I will be back if I'm ever in...
