We went there with friend for a girls night out and I was definitely not disappointed! The team was welcoming wirh a warm smile, could give us advice on the menu and made sure we had everything we need. We ordered the scallops as a starter (signature dish), which is definitely a must-try, although a bit salty. For the main, my friends took the pork belly (the other signature dish on the menu) and I took the venison. Again, not disappointed at all! The meat was tender, and the portion was big enough without being too much. We finished with dessert and ordered the bavarois and the panna cotta. The cake was light and tasty, the panna cotta, delicious! The wait between the dish was on the longer end, but that also enabled us to discuss and enjoy without having to rush. Dining at ROOD in Haarlem was an absolute pleasure. I had the opportunity to enjoy a three-course dinner there with my wife, courtesy of a gift from my credit card, and I chose this restaurant because it's located in the city we call home.

What an incredible experience! The quality of the food was outstanding, and the staff were genuinely warm and attentive, taking the time to explain each dish with care. The atmosphere was calm, intimate, and inviting — perfect for a relaxing evening out.

‘Rood’? Nog nooit van gehoord! Bleek een nieuw restaurant, net 6 maanden open in het centrum van Haarlem. Leuk om weer eens wat nieuws te ontdekken. Het restaurant ziet er heel smaakvol uit, mooi ingericht en warm aangekleed. We waren met drie. Wat opviel was dat het restaurant niet vol zat. We gingen voor de kaart waar veel mooie gerechten op staan, moeilijk kiezen… Als gezelschap kozen we voor oesters vooraf, daarna als voorgerecht gebakken coquilles, de signature dish van de chef en de tartaar van bavette. Beide heel erg lekker en mooi gepresenteerd. Daarna kozen we voor heilbot filet met risotto, hertenrug filet en de lang gerookte buikspek. Allemaal heel erg smakelijke gerechten! Als dessert gingen we alle drie voor de kaas. De chef legde persoonlijk uit welke smaken en soorten uit gekozen kon worden. Ook erg lekker! Over de wijn kan ik niets zeggen, in januari even geen alcohol, maar aan tafel was er veel waardering voor de keuzes. We gingen met een voldaan gevoel de deur uit. Weliswaar zagen we hier en daar nog punten voor verbetering, maar hier komen we zeker nog een keer terug. Dit restaurant verdient...
