Frenchie tries very hard to be an upperclass restaurant and mostly succeeds. The interior is beautiful, with art pieces from Mens & Palma, the staff are very professional, and the food is great. Looking at the menu, it was a bit hard to decide what to order but I finally settled on the LA Pastrami. As someone who was from LA I was curious about their approach, since it also had Kimchi. The sandwich fell a little flat for me. The pastrami itself wasnt warm, which is ok but I would expect a different cut of the meat (thicker) if Im eating a cold pastrami. With the kimchi in the sandwich the taste of the meat was overshadowed. The thickness of the bread also did it no favors. The egg dish however was top quality and really shows where their strengths are. The hollandaise sauce and capers brought an element to a brunch classic that really made it stand apart. We booked our wedding night in the Zolder Suite complete with the "Celebrate the Love" option, dinner for two and breakfast the following morning. The room is fabulous, spacious and complete with a bath for two and even a record player and some old vinyl records or bluetooth speaker. It was a warm summers evening but we opted to switch off the airco and open the two large velux windows while soaking in the bath. The breakfast the next morning was utterly divine and the coffee amongst the best I've tasted. All the staff were super friendly and seemed genuinely happy that we were there. Thoroughly...
Read moreI can only give 5 stars to this cute restaurant! I went there for brunch on a sunny Saturday morning. We sat outside and it was really pleasant - but I also saw the inside and the decor and overall vibe is on point! We ordered the French toast and the poached egg muffin and shared. I loved both! You could really tell the recipe was created by a real chef - it was not just another egg muffin or French toast - it was way more than that. I especially LOVED the French toast. It was one of the best I've had in The Netherlands. And, to top it off, service is great! The waitresses were really nice and attentive. I'll definitely go...
