I’m really surprised to see how many starts this place has on here.
We had soo many issues with out food. Firstly the waitress came back to us after we ordered saying that a dish my friend ordered was finished and he had to order something else. Then both dishes showed up and they wanted us to pay for both (?).
I asked if the falafel salad was gluten free (I’m allergic) and they said that they’d make it especially gluten free for me (which I thought was very nice!). The salad came (2 leaves of green and 2 slices of cucumber) without the falafels….. so that’s their way of “making it gluten free” (6 euros!!)
The waitress asked if we wanted the banana bread with cream on top (without mentioning it would be extra price) and in the end it was some gross tasting coconut shreds instead of cream (?)
Generally speaking, the prices SEEM ok but the portions are super small. We were advised to order 3 dishes per person (approx a good portion) which means it ends up being a pretty expensive place (~15/20 euros per person). And the staff was generally not...

The fried egg sandwich was open faced, a little on the runny side, and the bread was not toasted.
The shrimp croquettes had bones. I find that very strange, but the husband liked it.
The falafel were straight up hard as marbles.

The upside is I shouldn't eat so much on holiday and they they were definitely helping me in that regard.
The service was slow enough that one might mistake this for a French restaurant. The waitress was awkward to talk to, but very helpful for my husband's request to take away my leftovers (honestly he will eat anything)
I won't return for food but it's a reasonable...

The location of the restaurant is nice, it’s on the canal, however the service is pretty passive aggressive.
We ordered the cheese platter and were surprised that for 9 euros you receive 3 thin slices of cheese and no bread. When we complained, and said that we’d hoped for at least some bread with it, the male waiter came, and was respectful and seemed to understand why we were a bit shocked.
Some time later a female waitress came with another platter of three slices of cheese, which would have been perfectly fine. But she quickly placed it down whilst passive aggressively saying “de keuken is het er niet mee eens, dus dit is in jullie voordeel” which in English means “the kitchen doesn’t agree so this is in...
