Café Restaurant Bikini Bikini — Restaurant in Leiden

This place is great. I was a fan of Lotte & de Walvis but the rebrand has been great. Good atmosphere, ok prices (still insanely high but normal for the Netherlands) and great food.

Only downsides are; "fresh" orange juice isn't fresh - this one is a bit of a pet peeve of mine but if you're going to charge 4+ euros for orange juice then it's got to be fresh i.e. when I ask for it, you go and cut an orange in half and squeeze. Juice you made 2 days ago and put in the fridge with ice doesn't count.

They're really cramming in the amount of tables available - I get why from a business perspective but it gets really full and really loud fast, especially given how many parents with kids turn up -...

If awards were given for the most pleasant staff, then this restaurant would certainly be in the running. We were on a day trip to Leiden and found this little gem by accident. From the moment we entered the establishment, the staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. The lunch menu has a good choice of dishes. I chose the avocado with poached eggs and crispy chilli oil: delicious! I also tried a cocktail or two, also very good and for dessert I had the panna cotta with cherry ice-cream and peach compote. We went in for lunch and left 4 hours later!

There is a nice terrace overlooking the harbour so I reckon we will be going back when the weather is...

Absolutely amazing service and food. We had lunch, dinner and coffee in the morning there. Avocado and eggs, steak with french fries, fried shrimps with herbs ...all lekker. What surprised us more was the service, smiling and friendly people running to serve the clients and when we ordered coffee to go ...to drink at the boat the girl came to bring it to the boat as it was too much to carry for one person.
