Restaurant Momus — Restaurant in Maastricht

We chose Momus because it looked like a great place. We ordered the Nachos which were amazing. But all that came to an abrupt halt when we got our food.

The reason I'm giving so few stars is because our evening got ruined by the service provided by our server. We placed our main orders which included sweet potato fries as a side order. When it got served, we were brought regular fries. When we called the server, she informed us that they had changed the sweet potato fries to regular fries, but hadn't changed it on the menu yet. We informed her that we wanted the sweet potato fries and not regular fries, as mentioned on the menu. She was not happy, and took one of the foodplanks away and returned it with only the meat, and said that the fries would be brought out afterwards. The fries arrived about 15 minutes later, and needless to say that the meat was completely cold by that time. First time ever I have experienced this type of service in a restaurant.

My friend who has a nut allergy was told by this same server that she couldn't get the sweet potato fries due to her nut allergies. When we asked what the one had to do with the other, she answered with an attitude: "I don't work in the kitchen"

Needless to say that our evening got ruined by this attitude. The manager tried to fix it, but at that time our appetite had...

Allow me to give some context.. I am part of a wine association, looking for a place to do a presentation about wine for approx 50 ppl. I couldn’t find a place ANYWHERE on gods earth because of an event in Maastricht. I stumbled on Momus, they were quick, professional, responsive and met every single one of our demands.

We had a lovely room, check their website, you suddenly feel royal and all our guests were so impressed. The person who cares for us, without wanting to exaggerate really went above and beyond. So honestly, thank you Momus for the huge help and the whole event was a real success thanks to you !!

I will definitely be recommending it for future events for our wine association!

Run mostly by students with low restaurant experience. However the food is good and the service reasonable. Also when they screw something up, they pay for it. Not their customers. Only downside is staff sometimes playing with their phones a bit much. I think the management forbids the use of phones, but staff dont seem to care and use them anyways, trying not to get caught because who wants to serve those stupid tourists... they are here to make money, not to...
