Jimmy's The Original Fat Boy BBQ — Restaurant in Philipsburg

Arrived in St. Maarten on Sunday. Wanted some Fat Boy but they were closed. Therefore came on Monday and had the chicken meal. Very good. No complaints. Came again on Tuesday for oxtails. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! They give you 4 oxtails with little meat. Mind you I went to Jelly's in Anguilla and had the same meal for the same $12 price. Oxtails were plentiful where I had 3 servings to eat later. When I went back to discuss with the female owner, she gave me attitude and did not try to satisfy me as a customer at all. Told me I could have something else but the oxtails are it as is. Please read and see my pic from Jelly's. She needs to learn correct portion sizes and customer service skills. Since being in the islands everyone has been friendly and kind but not this woman. She told her manager just let her go. While he proceeded to call me crazy and said there was no way I got more oxtails for $12. Sorry to disappoint but there are better side of the road food trucks...

We actually wasted our time going to mainstream "known" resto's on the dutch side.

For a change we wanted something local so we went here 1 night.... it was an experience of a life time. Florence (hope I got the spelling right) in the back BBQing was AMAZING...after seeing him laugh and cook he gave me a quick crash course and history on his families 2nd generation street food resto. He even cooked in front of me and explained some of his methods.

We tried as many things as we could over our 3 visits, it kept us coming back. They where all AMAZING, so fresh, the meat juicy and you can tell everything was made with love and passion. The portions where also fantastic. In the end it was one of the big highlights of our trip to St. Martin and we can't wait...

We first found Jimmy’s in 2023 and have just returned again from SXM.

This is a MUST GO to place if you want to enjoy the BEST RIBS on the Island of Saint Martin. Must say the wings are also great. In fact, have never had anything there I did not like. The rice, mac and cheese, and salads are great accompaniments to the meal. Have now been there at least 6 times and would never go to the island without at least one visit.

They also do take-out and this visit brought racks of ribs home for the kids!
