Uncle Bob's Place — Restaurant in Philipsburg

When we went to Sint Maarten, we wanted to find a fantastic local restaurant that sold homemade food. We walked a few blocks up from the Carnival port and found Uncle Bob (on the right in the picture). Uncle Bob makes you feel like family! We actually wound up coming here by accident because the restaurant we were looking for was closed. After coming here, I was happy the other place wasn't open. This was a one of a kind experience. The food was some outstanding local cuisine and there were also local fruit juices to drink as well. And Uncle Bob made us feel like a member of the family. This is a tiny place but absolutely perfect for yummy local food. We went at the end of August, which is the island's slow season. They were out of cocktails but had a few other offerings in a fridge to choose from. Regardless of the season, our waitress was attentive and friendly and our food was still made by people who cared.
