NEVER AGAIN!!
Came in for a birthday dinner of 8 people. Called beforehand to check whether it is possible to bring a birthday cake to eat and were told that it is fine. Thatās why we decided to book a table. Once we were in the restaurant and wanted to eat the cake, we were refused by the staff. They told us that we would have to order their dessert as well. Then we suggested to order a bingsu, until the boss came and asked us to order 4 bingsu so that one can be shared with two people. Before that, we had ordered a ton of food already. How are we supposed to finish 4 bingsu + a birthday cake after we had already eaten so much? Simply a ridiculous and greedy request.
Ordering one bingsu is already better than nothing as we could have simply left with no dessert. Yet, they werenāt happy about that. If we knew there would be made such a big deal about a cake after spending almost 200⬠with 8 people, we would not have booked a table in the first place and gone somewhere else. The communication was also very unclear with all the staff. In the end we left and ate the cake elsewhere. Very disappointed that this restaurant canāt be more accommodating and understanding after we came with so many people, spend so much money, to have a birthday dinner.
Before this, most of us would come to Bapboss regularly, but surely this will never happen again after this experience. We wonāt ever come again and tell our friends about it. Thanks for ruining our night. A review will also be posted on Red (Xiaohongshu) so other Chinese and Asian people will know about this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSmall selection of food option, dish sizes are big (if not taken a tray option) but really traditional but leaning towards the western pallet.
The staff is really friendly and patience, but feels like they do not have much experience in the hospitality as their action are very robotic but not that negative. As the dish sizes are not small, the prices are meets that amount. What is pity because you cannot taste many other dishes, but that is mostly what Korean sizes are (served with a lot of many side dishes).
Dishes are not that special but very old traditional flavors with what I mention before: leaning towards the western pallet. What is pity because Like the subtle taste. Many dishes you will not find in usual Korean restaurant in the Netherlands. I think that is what they sell point, for example their fried chicken.
Their interior is very basic what you find in Korea, most casual restaurant especially in size also. Therefore, recommend to book a table in advance even though if you come early they will maybe have some walk in tables. Food service is clearly they put in effort and key on freshness therefore they made by order and therefore will take a moment before ready.
Will I come back? For some dishes yes but it will be maybe once 3 month when I am craving it because popular dishes they do not really have. They do takeaway and delivery, so do not have to come physically. overall 5/10 really want to come more often but due to the small selection of food option I will not able, and it is not that it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAuthentic Korean restaurant, which is really runned by Koreans. Their dishes are a bit different than standard Korean menuās, like jokbal (pigās feet, lots of collegeen), bossam (boiled pork belly), Samgye Jeongol (Korean ginseng chicken soup), LA galbi (beef short ribs) recommend, Song galbi (veal spare ribs), etc.
So they donāt have a lot of choices in standard dishes, like pajeon (only choice), no japjae ā (fried sweet potato noodles), no sikhye ā (Korean rice drink). If you want to try out different Korean dishes than the normally provided by other Korean restaurants like Man Nam, Gamasot, Gangnam.
Do keep in mind, it is always busy so a reservation is needed especially for dinners. Even with reservation you need to finish your dinner within 2hours. They also mind rush you to finish some dishes, because they donāt have enough plates, especially the big plates or special plates.
It is a small restaurant so do make reservation at least a week before, especially for big groups, like a party of 6 or more.
Would recommend to try this Korean restaurant out at least once, especially compared to Man Nam.
If it is fully booked, you can consider a take away. Order a delivery is extremely difficult since most of the time they are closed or unavailable via...
