Short version: don't go.
Long version: waited 15min to get seated, even though we had a reservation; minimal wine choice, and the one we picked for 39€ (!) was very meh for the price; there is no tap water, well, not for free. You will pay for a bottle of tap water with 1/25th of a slice of lemon at the bottom of your glas; had to stand up and ask for the waitress to come pick our order after 25min; waited 50min for our pizzas that were correct; we waited again to get our plates removed and to order the desserts; while we were waiting for the desserts, a person who happened to be the manager basically scolded us for being here for two hours, though according to her our reservation was for one hour. This was a blatant lie, since there is no mention whatsoever of time limitation when you make a reservation. She left angrily after we tried to explain her we would gladly leave if she could bring us our desserts; my affogato arrived first but the tiramisus arrived 20min later, meaning my ice had melted and my coffee had cooled, which screws up the whole dessert obviously. Not to mention, the tiramisus are pre-made and simply wait to be put in the table from the fridge, the wait was unjustified; we had to ask for a commercial gesture for our overpriced 140€ dinner. Lucky us, we were granted two free desserts from the previously described manager, who refused to deal with our table and let her overwhelmed and extra busy waitress deal with our disappointment.
All in all, spare yourself time and money, the pizza is good but you'll find similar...
Read moreCompared to O’Pazzo (which is also an awesome Italian restaurant nearby), Old Scuola offers Duffy Napoleon pizza rather than thinner Roman pizza.
Because the restaurant is dedicated to the perfection of pizza culinary, it does not offer a lot of options. Despite the limited pizza options, you will get one of the best Italian eatery experiences in Rotterdam.
If I dissects my review - there are two folds. 🌖Il Buono: -The pizza dough is baked to perfect state where the crust is puffy and crispy at the same time. -The dough within crust is relatively thinner than traditional Napoleon pizza, but the texture is perfect for the flavor offered by Old Scuola (we tried San Daniel with/out Burrata & Salame) -Generous amount of cheese, Rucola, and cured meat. The flavor of Prosciutto is perfect to my taste (not distinctly salty) - which gives a balanced flavor with San Marzano sauce and Parmigiano.
🌒Il Brutto: Perhaps with the extra Burrata added, together with San Marzano sauce and based cheese, the dough was quite wet, which - to my taste - hinders the overall texture of a pizza slice.
However with that being said, it is not fair to compare a pizzaria opened in the Netherlands with a local Italian osteria (constrain/pricing on fresh ingredients). Hence, Old Scuola concludes as one of the top pizza restaurants in the Netherlands.
*p.s: Service is quite attentive; but pizza cooks slow (took approximately 1 hour to get served after order -...

Perhaps one of the best pizzas in RDAM. We will definitely come back here and try all the pizzas from the menu ! service was good, waiters are nice! The interior is stylish and minimalistic, the atmosphere is good ) We ordered marinara and spicy salami pizza also tiramisu for desserts but it was tough and when we said that the tiramisu was deducted from our bill, the waitress apologized!
Highly recommend to try homemade limoncello and limoncello cocktail, it's delicious!
the only - for me is that you have nowhere to put your outerwear in the restaurant there are no hangers or other place for your clothes (( all guests put their clothes on the chairs behind their backs, this makes it difficult to sit comfortably.
also, I want to ask a question to all cafes and restaurants in rotterdam: why is your menu not in the public domain? i mean.. you can post it in « OUR MENU» highlight on instagram, and always update or update in google maps, anyway… always if the menu is on the website or social media of the place it is out of date ! but WHY ? I want to know where I'm going and what I'm going to eat in advance, that's fine! I will be glad to your answer, thanks! (and I will post here a photo of the current menu for all the same guests who want to know in...
