BrewDog Rotterdam Witte de Withstraat — Restaurant in Rotterdam

The waiter tried to scam us. When I went to pay, he hid the terminal from us, nor showing me the amount being paid. Luckily my bank card decided to block the transaction, unless I entered my pin (I'm from Canada). He kept trying to slide my card, tap it, desperately getting it to work. I then suggested that I paid cash, and asked how much the bill was, as he still never showed me (there was no check brought to the table, all he had was a machine). He quickly showed me the machine and said 79€. All my table ordered was a draft beer, a coke and a large fry. I told him that it didnt make any sense. He tried to insist that we ordered more. I repeated what I had ordered and he finally said 23€. If my bank card would have accepted the tap payment, his scam would have been successful. Be careful...

We came here for a comedy show which was advertised in English but turned out to be in Dutch. Also, they were admitting people for free, which is crazy because tickets were sold online.

When we brought this to the attention of the management, they were genuinely apologetic and tried to make our time there very pleasant. The event is marketed by a third party, and Brewdog only provides the venue, so they couldn't give our money back. Instead, they comped us with free cocktails and shots. All waiters/waitresses are very nice, except for one lost dude with a cap who thinks he's working as a policeman rather than a waiter. I would genuinely recommend him to pursue a career as a policeman if thats what he truly desires, but in the context of a resto/bar he exhibits horrible customer service. I was very tempted to put a 1 star because of him but the other waitresses were nice enough to bump it to a 3. Apart from this, I ll be honest the place feels a bit soul-less, and expensive too (but what do you expect, soul-less bar tends to equal exorbitant pricing).
