Dutch Dukes — Restaurant in Rotterdam

This is a very nice place in Rotterdam. I have been here before a couple of times. They usually have a free spot and the interior design is fabulous. Love the fact that the waiter kept calling me 'darling'. Felt like being in England. I had a very good fish and chips here but I am going to be brutally honest: it is more a Dutch version of the dish. The fish is small (yet enough for a small man like me flavour is good and sauce is great), they are not garden peas (and they don't do mushy peas), and the chips are Dutch ones (lovely though and seemed fresh and not frozen). Overall probably the best fish and chips you can get around here. The Ginger Beer they serve is not one commonly found at cafés. The taste is really good but maybe not as hot as the label claims. So, do you want to go there for drinks? Then take this review with a grain of salt (unless you want to order whiskey sour) Food - terrible! I wanted to try the fish and chips! but they didn't have it! so we ordered the pies! beef pie tasted bland, chicken one was good (okay?) and so was the vegetarian one! Also had the whiskey sour for the first time, didn't know it was an alias for lime soda? Expensive and not tasty! At least the people who served were accomodating! It was a friend's birthday and they were nice enough to allow for cake cutting and gave us a free firework-candle thingy! So on that front 5/5! But...

This bar is located in witte de withstraat. The atmosphere is very good and the place has tables both outside and inside. There is even a downstairs room where all the tables have couches and the light is more dimmed. In the menu there is a vast selection of beers, wines, cocktails and non alchoolic drinks. We got a pornostar martini and a pint of beer and everything was very good. The stuff is very professional and friendly. The prices are good. We are gonna be back...
