Côte du Cool — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Despite the good reviews I‘ve read and consider before writing this review, a waitress handled our table in a questionable manner. For me personally, she came to our table (after a series of passive aggressive remarks to my friend) —asking whether we are going to leave our table, because two new customers came. I had just ordered a beer 15 minutes before. I clearly have a sufficient amount of beer left. (I took a picture right after because of how absurd it felt)

After paying the bill, the owner kindly addressed the matter, even though she opened the dialogue with „what soup should we offer?“— referring to my friend‘s 2 star review. We took this apology into consideration, but we still feel bothered. It’s important to address that we were not loud, we were not sloppy nor bothering other guests.

Hope this will be a learning lesson for the development of the service, to treat everyone equally. The owner said it‘s a small business so I wish them...

Good wine and atmosphere, but sadly an impolite waitress served us. She said “let me know if you find a wine bar that serves soup” when we asked if they have it on the menu. She also peeped into my friends phone without consent, and was extremely passive aggressive the entire time. Owner apologised on her behalf, which was thoughtful, but started the conversation very rudely as well. It’s important to note, that we saw the owner and the waitress mocking us together...

We zijn hier gaan eten met hoge verwachtingen, maar die werden al snel de grond ingeboord door de bediening. Onze ober was een lange man met bruin haar, maar helaas hield daar de positieve beschrijving op. Hij was asociaal, kortaf en ronduit gemeen. Vanaf het moment dat we gingen zitten, werden we praktisch genegeerd. Het leek alsof hij er totaal geen zin in had en klanten eerder als last zag dan als gasten.

Toen we eindelijk zijn aandacht trokken, kregen we nauwelijks oogcontact of een begroeting. Bestellingen werden zonder enige vriendelijkheid opgenomen, en toen we vroegen om iets kleins als een extra servet, kregen we een zucht en een boze blik alsof we iets belachelijks vroegen. De rest van de avond werden we compleet genegeerd, terwijl andere tafels wél normale service leken te krijgen.

Echt een teleurstelling. Service maakt of breekt een avondje uit, en deze ober heeft het helaas volledig verpest. Wij komen hier...
