We were with Four people there on a Monday evening. We stood outside and waited to be let in. The security asked who all had a reservation, so we said we had one and came up to him. Then he said he didnāt want to hear Who but Who all hat a reservation. (It didnāt make sense and he just went inside annoyed) At that point we saw some of the guest who waited too were just leaving. Finally we got inside and were seated. The Ambiente was really a fast food chain interior and there was no atmosphere. We saw a lot of boxes like it was a storage room in the back of the restaurant (the boxes where on the table and floor, next to those where guest seated) The restaurant was quite busy but just a normal full restaurant when we got there. We ordered as soon as we where seated. The drinks came fast but the food didnāt. We sat there half an hour and we didnāt have the feeling the food was coming soon. ( we saw other tables that sat before us and didnāt have food either) So we waited . After one hour nothing had happened and we reminded the waiter. We would have just left ,waiting an hour for fast food meals, but near by there was an arcade (gamestate) so we played games while the other two of us were still waiting. After 1h 30min still no food, we went to the manager and complained. She offered us a free Nutella pizza but we just wanted our food. After a long discussion with the manager ( she even couldnāt speak Dutch and said herself that she isnāt a manager and that āmanagerā is just a name ) she had offered the drinks we got, for free and that we are coincidentily the next one in order, so the food will be there in the next five minutes. It came within the five minutes. The food was not great, we had three times pasta and one pizza. The pasta where really tasteless and where soft. The pizza was like you would expect from a chain like that. We noticed that the restaurant had delivery and that those got the food fairly fast but the guest seated had to wait 1h 30min for the food to be ready in just five minutes?! The table behind us had also waited around an hour for no food and just got up and left. All in all the restaurant is not worth it...

We were waiting outside in the rain for about 15-20 minutes in a big line. As soon as we approached the door when several groups in front of us were allowed in the door was smashed in front of us.
Since it was very cold and it was our turn we decided to step inside, usually when we come here we do this without problem just like people who come for takeout.
While we were waiting inside we noticed there were numerous empty tables throughout the restaurant even though there was a huge line outside waiting to be let in.
When the waitress approached us she rudely mentioned that we weren't allowed to come in without invitation and when I said that there are a lot of tables empty and that there are a lot of people waiting outside they replied with the following statement.
"This is our restaurant and our policy. We decide how to treat our guests and fill our tables." Then she opened the door and gestured that we should with the following comment: "If you don't like it you can gladly leave."
After that I asked for a manager and she said that she is the manager and started complaining about us to her coworker which took her place. She was also very rude and that they choose who they seat and who they don't seat and that we're not welcome.
I never experienced this kind of service anywhere else, not even at a McDonalds or local doner kebab place.
Chains like Happy Italy should not be allowed to treat customers like this and hire people who actually know how to respect a customer. You can't fight with a customer in the middle of a restaurant while you're supposed to be servicing them. That is what you pay for aside from the food.
I will never visit this place again, but hope that there management will read this and be familiar with what is going on in there...

Waited for 30 minutes in empty restaurant to be seated. When staff finally decided to arrive, they told us we can pick a table- so we did. Then they surprisingly showed up again, and stated its not possible to sit at the table we chose- even though it was empty and was no sign of reservation.
When we simply asked why, two waitresses were really rude, and annoyed by our question.
Once we were leaving to our table, I saw with the corner of my eye those two waitresses laughing and pointing a middle finger to our back.
I returned, and asked them whatās that supposed to mean- they kept telling lies, and said it wasnāt meant to us. Cāmon.
Manager showed up, awkwardly stood there, without saying a word.
We were so upset by the disrespectful behaviour of a staff, so we left.
Totally unprofessional and rude.
