Went there to a celebratory dinner with my partner, and these are my thoughts on the whole experience:
Wine card Fairly interesting wine card with a great variety, lacking in the red wine part due to the lack of meaty dishes, despite having a "from the grill section"
Cocktail menu A lot of big risks taken with interesting cocktails, a wide variety of gin, japanese sake, and other destillates such a japanese vodkas, and cognacs
Dishes: Gyu Roll: Beef sushi with a side japanese mayonaise on the side, great presentation and taste Passionfruit oysters: Amazing contraste with the sweet&sour taste of the passionfruit with the strong taste of oysters, served on crushed ice with a small bouquet of flowers and thinly sliced scallions Garlic honey soy karaage: Tender and juicy, great flavor, a bit lacking in presentation but the honey-soy combination makes up for it. Sake teriyaki: A good attempt at balancing the flavors of salmon and teriyaki sauce, the broccolini was greatly grilled, the small greens on the bottom were equally delicious Namurakke: Incredible, the lamb was perfectly cooked, beautifully plated with broccolini, tomato, and some crispy chips on the it. It was genuinely incredible. Moriawase sashimi : The best sashimi I've had in my live, with an amazing presentation, using a mix of shisho, dill, crushed ice, it was beautifully presented at an extremely reasonable price for a sashimi, the fresh wasabi on a cucumber was an incredible addition. Spicy sour Ebi roll: Another sushi roll, similarly presented to the Gyu roll, ended up ordering it twice due to how much we enjoyed it. The flavor combinations were on point
Deserts: Their desert card, despite recent, is wonderful, the chefs have great creativity and and all of them look so beautiful. Incredibly tasty, sad we didn't try the desert cocktails.
Drinks: The drinks were fantastic, the bartender, Rick, did an amazing job at telling the story of certain japanese spirits for everything that we ordered. The Lavander Blossom was interesting, and the Gin & Tonics that we got were splendid, really creative and fun.
Service: The service was splendid, all the staff saw to that we were comfortable, had a fun history lesson from our bartender, and everyone was generally kind. Cannot emphasize how great Rick was to us, definetely a great mixologist and bartender.
Design: The interior of the restaurant was beautifully, from the decoration, the music, to the mise en place for every table. Everything was stunning. Located near the Erasmusbridge, this restaurant has everything to be appealing.
Overall, Kyatcha is an amazing place with a kind and really dedicated staff (shoutout specially to Rick and the waitresses who took care of me and my partner). Amazing food and drinks, will...
Read moreRestaurant Review: Kyatcha Rotterdam – A Star That Has Yet to Be Named
It is rare for a culinary journey to begin with a story and end in reverence—but such is the case with Kyatcha Rotterdam. A minor reservation mishap, swiftly and professionally resolved by the reception, set the tone: this is a house that understands hospitality on a level typically reserved for the hallowed halls of Michelin distinction.
The Welcome From the moment we stepped through the door, we were met with a warmth that felt neither forced nor rehearsed. The hosts were aware of our rebooking, greeted us by name, and led us to our table with the kind of poised anticipation that suggests everything had been arranged with care and foresight.
The Service Flawless. Discreet, intuitive, and impeccably timed. Not a vacant stare nor a superfluous comment—just quiet attentiveness, present the moment it was needed. Glasses refilled before one could glance, questions anticipated before they were asked. A choreography of service rarely executed with such finesse.
The Cuisine €432 for four diners. A figure at which many restaurants begin to lose their footing—overpromising and underdelivering. Not so here. At Kyatcha, every euro finds expression in craftsmanship, ingredient integrity, and aesthetic precision. Each plate is a canvas. Each texture a deliberate contrast. Each bite, a crescendo.
The flavour architecture in Kyatcha’s signature dishes is deliberate and disciplined, never gratuitous. The harmony between Japanese purity and European restraint feels neither fussy nor forced—it simply flows. The fish? Immaculate. The sauces? Stripped down to essence. The plating? Dramatic, yet never self-indulgent.
Final Verdict That Kyatcha Rotterdam has not yet been adorned with a Michelin star borders on clerical oversight. This is not mere dining—it is a celebration. For those willing to invest in the experience, the reward is a night that satisfies not just appetite, but soul.
9.5 out of 10 – and a quiet challenge to the Michelin committee: take notice. This house deserves the star it already...
Read moreLast night was a double date to remember, all thanks to Kyatcha! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were whisked into a world of culinary delight and exceptional service.
The ambiance at Kyatcha is both elegant and welcoming. Soft lighting combined with tasteful decor created a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. Even de Christmas decorations were incorporated to match the melody of the night. It was the perfect backdrop for our evening, balancing romance and comfort.
The service was nothing short of exemplary. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They recommended fantastic dishes and pairings, and their timing was impeccable, ensuring our night flowed seamlessly without feeling rushed.
Now, onto the star of the show - the food! Kyatcha's menu is a delightful journey through contemporary cuisine with a traditional twist. We started with an assortment of appetizers, each more delicious than the last. The sushi rolls were a highlight, expertly crafted and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. A few warm dishes, among others, but namely, the Kagoshima A5 Wagyu!!! Served with a variety of different flavours to mix and match, though completely unnecessary since to product was prepared to perfection. But even then they took different flavours and views into account to acommodate even the complex of pallets
The drink selection was equally impressive. From refreshing cocktails to an extensive wine list, there was something to complement every dish. I highly recommend trying one of their signature cocktails, which were both inventive and delicious.
The overall experience at Kyatcha was exceptional. It was not just a meal, but a memorable event. The attention to detail, from the presentation of the food to the ambiance and service, made our double date night truly special.
In conclusion, Kyatcha is a gem that surpasses expectations in every category. Whether it's for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or just a night out with friends, this restaurant is a must-visit. We're already planning...
