I was looking forward to eat at Vessel11 because of the menu and the reviews (and the fact that it is a boat, of course) but I've been SO disappointed ! I booked a table for two and we were on time. First problem : they apparently booked the wrong table, ours was busy and the tables with no customer were booked so we had to wait and they urged customers to leave their table. How rude. Speaking about the meals, I don't think it's worth the price, AT ALL. First the size of the "Turf and Surf" dish. It was so small and the meat was half meat half pork fat. The vegetables were half a tomato and some arugula salad. Not to mention the taste. I don't get how pork and king prawns are supposed to work together but it wasn't particularly tasty. The French burger was ok but wasn't worth 22€. Since the red velvet cake and the cheesecake were out of stock (as early as 8PM. obvious food managing issue) we had the dessert with strawberries, whipped cream and meringue. Fortunately it was nice (what can be wrong with straweberries and whipped cream ?) but very expensive considering it was a whole plate of whipped cream, crushed meringue with only 2 chopped strawberries. Now the customer service. Starting from when we ordered (you have to scan a QRcode displayed on the table and choose on the website), we waited A WHOLE HOUR to get our dish. We were able to slowly sip 2 drinkings while we were waiting (maybe they do it on purpose ?). We waited another 40 minutes to get the dessert after we finished our main dish. This is unacceptable. We spent way more time waiting for our food than eating it. The restaurant wasn't even very busy, several tables were empty or with only 2 people like us. They have obvious managing issues. The guy who welcomed us was polite and kind but the waitress (petite, blonde, with tats) looked like she hates her job. She never smiled, she didn't even say hello, she didn't even wiped our table after the last customers. The table was gross and she didn't even bother. Not only with us but apparently with other customers too. The "Turf and Surf" comes with 2 king prawns in their shell and sauce on it so you have to put your fingers in the dish but they don't provide fresh disposable towels. Of course I washed my hands in the bathroom as soon as we arrived in the restaurant like I always do but I would have enjoyed something for after I touched the prawns.

2 x 22,5€ dishes + 2 desserts + 4 drinkings (one only with alcohol) = around 85€ (they charged 3 extra €s but we don't know why and we wanted to leave so much we didn't bother to ask).

It is way too expensive for the experience ! We will never come back again. Too bad because otherwise it is...

We tried this restaurant yesterday for dinner. Overall, I would say that the food and the ambience was very nice. We tried 2 different types of burgers and their fish & chips and everyone enjoyed the taste. Normally, I would have given it at least a 4 star. However, we had a negative experience regarding the ordering that made the whole experience a bit sour. They have their menus as QR codes that are nailed to the table and the entire ordering process happens on your mobile (no paper menu was on our table). We scanned the code and ordered our food accordingly. Upon receiving our burgers, we were surprised that no fries and coleslaw came with it. When we asked the waitress about this, she (quite rudely) told us that those are ordered separately and that is what it says on the menu. We asked her for fries and then she left. We decided to scan the QR code to check because we did not believe it was not included and we were correct - on the menu, it very clearly said that the burgers came "served with V11 chips and coleslaw." So the next time a waitress passed by, we asked again. This waitress (another person) told us that they have a new menu and it is not yet updated online but that she would check with the kitchen to be sure. She never returned to our table but the fries we requested from the first waitress did. When the bill came, they charged us the same price that was on the menu we ordered from (burger + fries + coleslaw) for only the burgers and then they charged us additionally for the fries. As a result, we felt a bit cheated and will not return here...

Went to take my Friends and my Mother ( that came out from Scotland to see ) for a light celebration for a rather special occassion . I had booked in advance for 5 people and pre Ordered the Beef Wellington. Went we got there it too ages to get our drinks. The when we where finally asked if we like to order food we fist orders a snack plank and a starters. This to ages to come. I even went to ask why it was taking so long and could we hurry it up cos I am on a time limit. We sat there for atleast 4 hours with just a starter, when the starters did arrive my Mother had to ask the waiter for cutlery. Took ages for the cutlery to arrive. My Mother had to leave . So I took her to Beurs Metro station. Walked back to the Boat and decided we had enough. There a Pirate party in the Lower deck of the boat that were obviously getting more attention than the guest in the main dinning room. There was people which had already had there starters , main and pudding and had left. I paid off what we had and cancelled the Beef wellington. My friends and me managed to fix our evening by eating in Rotterdam Restaurant in Blaak. Lesson learned I will not eat in here again. According to me I would have been faster flying to London and getting food in England. Real shame for as a British person living in Rotterdam I use to come to Vessel 11 a lot in the summer, for oysters and beef wellington and smoke a cigar at the top deck. For me the experience left a bitter taste in my mouth . Who is Captain of this Vessel . Jack Sparrow? Mr Potatoe Head could have...

Great atmosphere for dining or just having a coffee, tea or beer. It's a transplanted Thames River light ship. The current "gastro pub" is not the first use of the vessel for commercial enterprise; nor for food. It has a great location, very close to the Rotterdam Maritime Museum. The main deck is divided into three separate but conjoined dining rooms with another deck below. When I came, it was hotter than blue blazes outside, so all the ventilation was open. It did appear that all three spaces can be fully enclosed for cold or wet weather. I didn't make it to the deck below. I stopped in for a quick beer and snack on my way out of town. It took me a minute to get noticed by the staff, but once that was done they were cheerful and seemed willing to talk. I had the house blonde ale and, on recommendation from my server, a cup of bitterballen. The beer compares favorably against large producer ales in any place I've visited. It is fairly mediocre, however, when compared against other small production beers. I enjoyed it completely on a hot afternoon. At this time, I have no reference to compare the bitterballen against, but I enjoyed them although I would prefer to have had them in a dish other than a pint glass.

We visited this place to finish our Rotterdam Weekend trip with enjoying local beer on a old nice boat. The local young dutch waiter with curly hair cross us several times after we took seats (see photo). He didn’t take notice that we as new guests took already seats and are really interested ordering two local Dutch beer. Then after 10 minutes a bigger group on our left was on way to move and paid their bills an the bar to the hurly hair waiter. After payment he decided to tap beer instead of looking around. After totally waiting 12-15 minutes, we decided to ask him why he did not take noticed us and why he is ignoring us. This is very sad and not polite from him. After asking him, he answered he was busy with the local bigger group. But he lied, because he cross us 2-3 times before the group left. After the group left, he still ignored us. We found his behaviour apathetic. A solution would have been, he is taken the order immediately now, a real sympathy and serious meant sorry for the ignoring and a please to stay. We left the boat then immediately. @owner: is this typical or could it be that maybe some of your young employees have resentment? Why your staff is acting this way?

Vessel 11 is a nice restaurant located in the heart of Rotterdam, it is very close  from metro stops Beurs and Blaak ( around 5-10 min walk). The restaurant is very special, it is located on an old historic light ship. It's actually pretty big considering that you can sit underground, normal level and also outside on the front and back plus on  outside on the roof. When i visited Vessel 11 I tried  their Full English breakfast. It was a very good meal. The breakfast came with all the classic food such as eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, mushrooms. My friend tried the pulled pork on a bun which was also really nice and quite a decent size. While the food at Vessel 11 good, I did find the beer prices to be a bit too expensive. Paying 8.9 euros for half a liter of beer is too much in my opinion. The service was very slow. We needed to wait for more than 1 hour around lunchtime on a Saturday. I would recommend to visit it 1 time because of the very unique location, but I am not sure if I will come here again due to the high prizes.
