Looking for a real Turkish breakfast? Keep looking.

We went there with high hopes – four of us, ready for a proper Turkish breakfast. We ordered two “for two” menus, expecting four portions. What we got looked more like one-and-a-half. When we pointed it out, they shrugged and said, “That’s how it comes.” Really? Three types of cheese, but only two pieces of each – for four people? It was almost comical trying to explain this to different waiters who just didn’t get it.

Service? Painfully slow. Every simple request took 15–20 minutes. And after all that waiting, we were hoping at least the food would redeem the experience. It didn’t. Everything tasted like it came straight from a discount supermarket shelf.

Authentic? Not even close. Turkish breakfast always includes fresh tomatoes and cucumbers – we got a sad salad with one or two tomato slices thrown in. The olives weren’t even Turkish, more like Greek or Italian imports, and the cheeses were flavorless, cheap blocks with no character.

What’s most disappointing is the big talk on their website and menu about “authentic Turkish flavors.” In reality, it’s a lazy imitation. We even spoke to another Turkish couple sitting nearby – first time there, and they were just as disappointed.

If you’re after a true Turkish breakfast experience, this place is all smoke and no fire. Save your time, your money, and...

Awful service.

To provide more context about our experience: after being seated, it took 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We also noticed that the table next to us was repeatedly trying to get the attention of the staff. Eventually, it turned out their order had been forgotten in the kitchen and they had to place it again.

After our order was finally taken, the drinks arrived fairly quickly (about 10 minutes), but we then waited a long time for the food. After 35 minutes, we managed to flag down a waitress to ask about the delay, only to be told that our order was never registered and would have to be placed again. It's difficult to understand how this could happen, especially since our drinks were served without issue.

Unfortunately, due to this level of disorganization and poor service, I cannot...

Nothing to highlight really. The food is okay, nothing special. The coffee is quite mediocre. The service is rather slow. We ordered oat lattes which didn't really taste like oat milk - a bad foaming and preparation made the texture to resemble cow milk too much. The reaction of the staff was quite inappropriate. The barista came out and approached us with a bit of an attitude. I didn't know customer service was really like that... The customer always needs to be accommodated, especially if you mention a problem or a preference with respect. They charge like 6 euro for what looks like tap water... I thought in the Netherlands we were over this overcharge with water, tap water should be...

Really nice spot inside the Fenix Museum with a stylish vibe. It can get a little noisy, but the atmosphere is still enjoyable. The menu has plenty of options, though ordering could be a bit quicker. We started with an açma, but it was pretty hard instead of soft and warm, so that was a letdown. The meatballs tasted a bit like they’d been boiled—different, but not bad at all—and the presentation was nice. Mantı was just as expected, and the baklava totally stole the show. Hands down the best thing we had—so tasty! Overall, definitely worth checking out. Next time I’m planning to go back to try Turkish breakfast.
