Last night i tried to order a beer and i tried to get the attention of the bartender. I said excuse me and must have made a move with my arm to the bar. The next thing that happened is that the lady bartender started abusing me. She told me ' never to slap the bar to get her attention '. The suggestion that i was pounding the bar for attention is beyond absurd. The woman literally shouted at me ; she was hysterical. Its been a long time anyone has treated me with this disrespect. First i was flabbergasted but then i realised i was not having it. I spoke to her and asked her to apologise. She refused. I went to the woman near the door to ask if i could speak to the manager. He was not in. The woman bartender behind the bar saw me filing my complaint and she was laughing in such a way that i could see she felt she was found out. I sent an email to Paddy Murphy to see whether they will offer me an apology and i am awaiting the answer.....I pressume this has happened before : for someone to go off the rails for nothing makes you wonder what if someone actually done something.
Read moreI've been a regular here almost since day one, over 25 years ago. Staff are vriendly and efficient; the teamwork and collegiality is amazing. They are also friends, not just colleagues, often going out together, having dinner p[arties at home, sometimes holidaying together. prices are average and the beers etc are good with a good cellar regime. I cannot identify with any of the complaints voiced here; I've never experienced anything like them. If a mistake is made whether on their part or the customers, they dont make a fuss about correcting it. Bear in mind that the customer has often been drinking, the staff not but mistakes can be made. As for the €5 door charge, thats only on Friday and Saturday when its a band rather than a solo artist. Bands are expensive and the drinks prices do not increase. However, if you get in earlier in the evening, you get in for free but if you only come for the band, then pay for it. When family and friends come over from abroad, they always want to return to Paddys. Amazing place and...
Read moreCame in late to meet friends who were watching football, I did not eat the food but my friends who were there enjoyed it. The girl who served me was kind and competent. Friendly locals in the bar. Very crowded in the football area (as I am told this is the only place to go see EPL (premier league uk) football matches. ) but the vibe was fine. Everyone there was having a good time except the people who were supporting the losing team (me included). Generally good, i did not use the wc so will not comment on those as i honestly have no idea. Its a pub. The areas i was in did not smell. Had a wide selection of drinks. They serve food. Football on weekends and possibly champions league, check...
