Café in The City — Restaurant in Rotterdam

First things first, what I ordered was very tasteful! I orderd the streak, popcorn chrimps, beef rol sushi and chicken mango sushi.

The manager came to us because we were a group of 9. She told us that she'd like us to order the similar dishes, because it's easies for the kitchen. I've never heard something like that before... We didn't take that "advise" of her, because we all order what we fancy...

Some of us ordered sushi, but they brought all of the sushi rolls together on one plate. We asked the waitress if she could bring some other plates so we can transfer the sushi roll to the person on our table. The waitress didn't know what to do and she told an other waiter about it and he told het "so be it, just put it on the table", we all were surprised. Very bad serive.

Anyway, our food came fast, eventhough we all orderd different things. However, we were still waiting for 1 fries for 1 person for like 30 minutes, while everyone else was already finished.

We celebrated a birthday here and we had our own cake with us. The waitress had put in in the fridge until we were finished eating and the table was cleaned. It took 15 minutes for putting the napkins on the table, 5 minutes for the cake and 15 minutes again for the forks...

Our overal experience was bad. We paid almost 80 EUR per person. Music was way to loud and we couldn't hear each other while having a conversation. I will not return here since our overall experience did not meet our...

Absolutely NOT recommended. It was the worst experience I had in Rotterdam so far. Me and my two friends went there for coffee, after 20’ we were there they asked if we want anything else to drink, they took our drinks immediately (2’ not kidding) after we finished them and asked again if we need anything else, we were there not longer than an hour and they came at least three-four times to ask us if we need anything else,implying that we must order again if we want to sit any longer (the place was almost empty and we informed the PR guy from the beginning that we just wanting coffee) I ordered a double cappuccino and the charged me 7,2€ for it because the extra espresso was charged like a different drink which was ridiculous, our waitress was SUPER RUDE with us, my sister asked for a receipt witch was placed in front of her at our table, we stayed literally 5’-10’ after we paid our drinks because we were tired from our walk and just wanted a few more minutes to relax and apparently this made our waitress furious because se came to our table and just GRAB the receipt of the table without asking and threw it and then gossiping about us to her colleagues and they were laughing looking at us, really we just wanted a place to drink a coffee and relax after shopping and this whole experience...

Food Price Quality is below average . As a group we had to order days prior what we wanted to eat. This was just absurd to begin with. We had to wait 45 minutes between courses. Eventhough we give our orders a few day before the kitchen still managed to mess up our orders. I had carpaccio wich was okay. Then for the second course I had the steak. Literally only a piece of steak on my plate. I was appalled. After we pointed out then we we are getting for the price , we eventually got some fries ( after we finished the second course) then we waited a good while for the desert. I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND THE CHEF HIS / HER CONCEPT OF THE DESERT. .. Did not make any sense. Desert came on a platter with ice. Different bites and we had to share. After waiting for a so long for the food, it was almost disco time, so we had to hurry up so they can make space for the dance floor. The staff was friendly and tried to facilitate us as much as they could.

Would I recommend this place for a group Dining? My answer is NO! Spend your hard earned money somewhere else, where you get Quality and fulfilling FOOD
