River Bar — Restaurant in Rotterdam

me and a colleauge which arrived in Rotterdam on a ship, had a friday night where we thought "hey let's go out and get a beer or two!" 2 bars on parkkade just threw us out the minute we arrived, saying they were closing and they didn't want us there. (extremely un-polite) we gave it a 3rd try and went into River Bar. a waitress immediately greeted us took our coats and led us to sit at the "bar" as she said. I would not call this a bar, as we were sitting amd watching 3-4 chefs make food. Not complaining.. this was actually very nice. The waitresses were extremely friendly and always made sure we had beer, hehe. At one point they had to change the keg of our preferred beer, but this did not go as they had planned, and took a while. cause of this, they offered us 2 local beer each on the house. After this, a guy also working there, brought us the original beers after they fixed the problem, explaining the problem and being very polite talking to us. Even the chefs took an interest in us, talking to us, asking where we're from etc. I've been to Holland before and always had the impression that the people were arrogant. This one visit in this bar changed how i view dutch people in general. Kind and caring people. To all of you working the 8th December 2023. Thank you for giving me an amazing evening

We had dinner on a very rainy day. What a nice restaurant can’t wait to eat there in summer at the terrace. Three weeks opened. Great service. You can see they enjoy there work and want to give you a great might. Small but nice menu. We did sharing and had a combination of Vegetarian and meat. Really nice food. We had a very good experience at this restaurant. We chose the chefs menu, one of us is a vegetarian. The first 2 rounds did not contain any special vegetarian dish, which was a bit dissapointing. After mentioning this to our waiter, the chef created a very tasty cauliflower steak dish. We were very pleasantly surprised at this level of service.
