It’s upsetting to write this review after such a possibly experience with the soft opening. I came here with my grandparents after raving about how amazing this restaurant was. I finally have found an authentic Mexican restaurant that represents my culture! However, the service and the food shocked me due to how much it changed from my first time at the soft opening.
The portion! Very small and expensive. I got the mole tacos the first time and it came with three. This time my partner and I got birria tacos and the chorizo tacos and it only comes with two! I was shocked and thought this is not going to feed hungry adults.
The flavor. It was so bland and the food was not hot. Mexican food is full of flavor and it was disappointing to say the least. Mexican rice had no flavor and frozen vegetables were used. Beans are soaking in water and I have never seen beans served this way. I recommend the restaurant changes the way they cook to follow more authentic flavors and methods of cooking Mexican ingredients. (I recommend refried beans, people will love it.) also bring back the pinwheels! With hot sauce and lime.
The service was terrible. Our waitress, a young woman, was very rude and dismissive. She didn’t seem to know the menu when we would ask her questions. At the soft opening, our food came with rice and beans, we also expected this time. When we asked she had no clue. Then our second waitress comes out and gives us the complimentary rice and beans with our meal. So which one is it? You get the rice and beans or you don’t? We mentioned to the younger woman that her coworker did say it comes with the meal and she continued to say it does not. Very confusing and the way she responded wasn’t very pleasant.
Overall, I’m so sad that I will say I will no longer come here after this experience. I wish the restaurant the best of luck and hope they take notice to peoples suggestions. Train staff to know the menu and how to properly interact...
Read moreWent here last Saturday and the food was excellent. We sat at the garden and it was lovely! The only problem was the service. They were not very well coordinated. We got our cocktails and bites, but somehow they forgot our taco's. After we asked them twice, we finally got our taco's around 20:30 (we entered the restaurant at 18:30). One guy came to say sorry and asked if we would like to have another guacamole with tortilla chips for free, but we said no as we got the taco's already (however, if they want to compensate, they can deduct it from our bills as we ordered these as bites). Further, the cocktails and churros tasted good but I don't think we will come back if the service...
Read moreWe went to La Patrona in The Hague to celebrate a colleague’s birthday and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, which instantly set the tone for the evening. The interior is stylish yet cozy, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home.
The food was flavorful. We had even thought about bringing our own cake for the birthday, but we’re so glad we didn’t. The dessert cake here was absolutely to die for. They even surprised us with candles, which made the celebration extra special.
La Patrona is more than just a restaurant, it’s a place where hospitality and food come together beautifully. We’ll...
