Nestled in The Hague Centrum, the Bookstore Café is a hidden gem that seamlessly combines the love for literature, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and delightful culinary offerings. During my recent visit, I was captivated by the cozy ambiance, exceptional coffee, delectable pastries, extensive book collection available for borrowing, and the provision of a dedicated workspace. Without a doubt, the Bookstore Café is a fantastic place that caters to the diverse needs of its patrons.

The moment I stepped into the Bookstore Café, I was enveloped by its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The décor, featuring shelves of books, soft lighting, and comfortable seating arrangements, created a sense of tranquility and invited visitors to stay and savor the ambiance. Whether you're seeking solace for quiet reading or engaging in deep conversations with fellow book lovers, this establishment provides the perfect setting.

The coffee at the Bookstore Café is truly exceptional. Brewed to perfection, each cup is a testament to the baristas' dedication and skill. The aroma alone is enough to entice even the most discerning coffee connoisseur. From classic espresso-based beverages to specialty blends, the café offers a wide range of options to cater to various preferences. I highly recommend trying their signature blends; each sip is a delightful journey of flavors that will satisfy even the most demanding palate.

The pastries at the Bookstore Café are simply amazing. Freshly baked and bursting with flavor, they are a treat for the senses. From decadent cakes to flaky croissants, there is something to satisfy every sweet craving. The attention to detail and quality ingredients are evident in each bite, and the pastry selection perfectly complements the coffee offerings. Indulging in one of their pastries while enjoying a good book is truly a heavenly experience.

One of the standout features of the Bookstore Café is its vast collection of books that are available for borrowing. Whether you're interested in fiction, non-fiction, or exploring different genres, the diverse selection caters to all literary tastes. This unique offering allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of books, discovering new authors and titles while enjoying a cup of coffee. It's an excellent initiative that fosters a sense of community and encourages a love for reading.

For those seeking a dedicated workspace, the Bookstore Café offers a comfortable and conducive environment. With ample seating and a quiet atmosphere, it is the ideal place for freelancers, students, or anyone looking to work or study. The availability of free Wi-Fi ensures that you can stay connected while immersing yourself in your tasks. The serene surroundings and the occasional waft of freshly brewed coffee make it a productive and inspiring workspace.

I was passing by chance from that bookstore cafe and it's a nice find. You don't often find cafes where you can browse on books and even sit down with your coffee. It's not very big but two large rooms in the back and a large hall in front are not small. I glanced books, even found two nice new ones. But on the whole I didn't think the selection is too focused. Maybe something from everything. They were closing when I went in so I could not sit down and relax. But the attendant there was so polite, she explained to me everything. She offered to make me a drink, and I could sit down, but only for 10-15 minutes because she had to clean up for the show that was gonna be there at 9pm, a music band, like every Tuesday I think k she said there are also readings. She also invited to maybe pass by later at some point. I guess it was a kind of open free event, not anything private. So, I don't know about the books, but the cafe is definitely to visit, and didn't just have coffee. There were still lots of cakes and even sandwiches. The surrounding area was also pretty cool too to visit. Will keep in mind to visit again, there is always time for...

It was a very nice and cozy atmosphere. The sandwich was delicious, and being surrounded by books felt wonderful. However, despite all this beauty, I left with an unpleasant memory. I accidentally spilled my ginger tea, picked up the ginger pieces from the floor, and wiped the area with my sandwich wrapper. Then I went to the restroom. When I came out, a casually dressed staff member with orange hair was waiting at the door with a cloth in hand, almost like standing guard. He asked me to clean the tea stain on the floor with rude attitude.

But I had already picked up the ginger pieces and wiped the area in a way that prevented any puddle from forming. I found the attitude quite discomforting, especially since I had clearly made an effort to clean up and showed goodwill. It’s the first time I’ve encountered such behavior in the Netherlands. I don’t want to sound divisive, and I’m not making assumptions—but even though I didn’t leave a mess behind, being treated this way...

Visited Bookstor Café, a delightful blend of a café and an old bookstore with over a century of history. The café continues to function as a bookstore, offering a unique experience where you can enjoy drinks and coffee while immersed in a good book. You can bring your own book, borrow one from their collection, or purchase one from their selection. The ambiance is truly exceptional—cozy, calming, and perfectly suited for reading. The noise level is just right, fostering a conducive environment for relaxation without being too silent. The architecture adds to the charm, enhancing the overall experience. I ordered an Americano and a muffin, simple yet delightful choices that complemented my time spent there. I’ve visited several times and always look forward to returning. Highly recommended for book lovers and anyone seeking a serene place to unwind.
