On Saturday, we wanted to go to Cloos for party (it turns into a club aftet 22pm). The place was almost empty when we came at the start of the event, and a security guy was providing a security check. He told my partner "This is not allowed" and pointed at the lower part of his body. It took us a while to figure out that he was actually pointing at the sweatpants. We could not understand what was not allowed on wearing sweatpants (it was normal black sweatpants, not formal, but also nothing super unformal or sloppy). So I asked him why it is not allowed, and he said "This is not a gym" in very disrespectful manner. Honestly, the way the security guy treated us absolutely discouraged me from going to Cloos ever again. I understand that maybe the club wants some specific dresscode (although I did not notice this in the club during my previous visits) from their visitors, but that should be announced somewhere, so that the people can prepare for that (because some people wear nice sweatpants as part of their outfit, so they do not consider it inappropriate). And most importantly, the club should hire security personnel, which knows how to behave to possible customers and treat them with respect. I understand that it was not the security guy's fault that the club wanted specific dresscode, but the way he speaks to you is of course his responsibility. Otherwise, Cloos is a nice place with good drinks, but the security personnel should learn how to act as...

Read moreVery unwelcoming (to foreigners). I was there with a friend of mine and a blond waitress consistently treated us like trash since I spoke Dutch with an accent. We were not approached and couldn’t order for more than half an hour due to staff ignoring us (even after eye contact). It wasn’t busy and the blond waitress was constantly hanging out close to the bald barman with tattoos and glasses instead of approaching us while it was clear we’re ready to order. This was not the case with other non-foreign guests (I was looking to confirm this isn’t related to my accent but…), she approached them instantly and was smiley towards them. After I got her attention she approached with an attitude, and talked sarcastically with a smirk as if I’m either a child or mentally challenged. She was very rude, no hospitality or manners whatsoever. I felt like I’m the one being hospitable to her instead of the other way around. When it comes to hospitality, there shouldn’t be ethnicity related double standards. In the end, we ordered but left very disappointed and kind of sad to face this reality. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that has standard and...
