Wow what a bad restaurant! On all levels really. The food is ok, nothing special. We are very much used to the higher prices these days but €25.50 for a miniscule piece of codfish, for that price you expect to be able to share it as a bite but it was literally that, one bite. The worst part is the setting and the service. First we had the table right above the kitchen with a strong smell like you are walking by the fish stand on a market. We thought first it's OK, because we are going to eat fish. But it got bad. So we kindly requested and got a table in the front area. These are just hard wooden benches with no cushions. That's really OK, in places with seating like that you don't expect to sit there for 3 hours (!) Unfortunately, the service: it took 50min for our first food to arrive. It wasn't even the sashimi, which is the fastest to prepare. We got that as last. After making a point, they said they only have a single sushi chef today. But then they also had Uber eats drivers coming in. Those were helped first. Eventually they closed Uber Eats.. Why do you even turn it on when you have a full restaurant and miss a chef? The service was like stuck in a bad reality show. Ordered sodas, didn't receive it. This happened multiple times. Always had to follow up. The last time we ordered drinks we had to order them 3 times. The 3rd time the worst waitress said she will take it off the bill. But we were thirsty, we wanted our drinks! They obviously were understaffed, but then why do you accept reservations? And honestly one waitress was simply creating work for the other one. If you want to be entertained at the expense of yourself, go here. Otherwise plenty really plenty of alternatives in the area. I hope the owner goes bankrupt soon so that someone with more common sense can start a nice restaurant here. Read moreI should have heeded the reviews about the slow service here!!!!! Ignore this warning at your own peril... People have reported the problem of SLOW service for many years. These reports are no exaggeration. Apparently it is of no concern to the owner that is still the case. If they don't match the staffing with the seating capacity of the restaurant, it simply shows a fundamental disregard for the customers.
In our case over a period of three hours they managed to produce 5 small simple plates of sushi rolls which we had ordered minutes after being seated. The first plate only appearing after a full hour. We had planned for this to be our starter, but after our three hour wait decided to see if the french fries store (frieten atelier) was still open instead. No, they didn't forget we were there. I saw very little food going to other tables as well. They apparently were basically incapable of producing the food within a reasonable timeframe.
It was a birthday dinner so luckily there was still lots of cake at home and we made a few sandwiches.
We didn't make a fuss about it and they acknowledged the issue but in retrospect, we should not even have been charged for this meal.

We decided to go for the four-course meal without asking too many questions, expecting a bit of sushi and maybe some tempura. Honestly, it didn’t matter what we were getting; we were already enjoying our evening filled with great conversation. And then the food arrived!
It was absolutely fantastic! The portion sizes were perfect—just enough to savor each dish without feeling rushed. The timing of each course was impeccable, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience.
