Mood Beach — Local services in The Hague

After a day at the beach, we were hungry and looking for a place along the promenade to have some pizza with a sea view. It was just after 8:30 PM when we sat down. A waiter showed us to the table but didn’t mention anything about the kitchen closing soon. We were given menus, and we saw other tables still receiving hot meals. The table we were given was also dirty — with crumbs and stains from previous guests — and no one even attempted to clean it.

A waitress came to take our drink order, and I asked if we could also order food — she said someone would come to take our food order shortly. We received our drinks, but nobody came for a long time. After waiting more than 30 minutes, I asked again when we could order food. That’s when she told us the kitchen was already closed, and only snacks were available — and even half of those weren’t.

Then the same guy who had seated us came over. I asked him what time the kitchen closes, especially since other tables were still being served hot food. He avoided giving a clear answer and just said it “depends on the day,” repeating again that only snacks were available.

I’m giving this place a 2 out of 5 — only because the food we did get was actually tasty, and the atmosphere was nice. But the service was very disappointing. Nobody warned us about the kitchen closing when we sat down, and we ended up waiting a long time without being able to order a proper meal. We left hungry and...

Came here last week on one of the first days of their opening. If you come here for their many vegan options you might get disappointed as none of the things I tried to order were in stock - whilst I chose this place for their vegan food options. The waitress came back to our table a few times saying we don't have this and that even falafel wasn't available. They ended up making me a delicious salad with loads of nice and fresh veggies. It was very tasty and I appreciate the effort. However, the waitress came to the table already loads of times explaining and apologising and then a guy came to the table explaining everything again. We were interrupted way too many times and it makes me look like I'm a 'problem' my friends even suggested to go somewhere else, whilst all I wanted is to get some food and enjoy my conversation with people I hadn't seen in months as I live abroad. Please, if one waitress already takes care of a problem there is no need to involve other staff as well. She and the kitchen dealt with it perfectly.

Price Performance: Catastrophe! 1 star is already too much!

We (5 persons) wanted to have a proper breakfast and decided 5 "extensive" breakfast for 14 € per person. What did we get?: Altogether (not per person): 5 half slices of toast, no croissants ( were on the menu ), yogurt (was delicious), 3 half avocados, 6 slices of ham and & 6 slices of cheese. In addition there were blueberry muffins which were definetly not homemade. On the card was fresh orangejuice, we got apple juice. I never had such a bad breakfast for so much money. Finally, we ordered more bread because 5 slices of a half Toast were not enough for 5 people. At the end we got a bill of 77€. So 7€ were charged for another 4 HALF toasts. Absolute impudence.
