Yesterday I went with my girlfriend to Scheveningen and we've chosen this place because it was lovely and quite with not so many people and we wanted to enjoy the sun and the view. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and 2 half dozen of oysters. The wine was lovely but the glass smelled bad like if it was dried with a dirty cloth. At that point I've decided to just enjoy and say nothing about it. 20 minutes later the oysters arrived but no napkins and oysters forks were served. My girlfriend stood up and asked for it. Instead they bring us napkins but no forks. I've also asked for some vinegar with shallots (the basic in serving the oysters) and instead they brought us white vinegar, very strange I thought! Lemon were sliced only for decoration and could not be squeezed on top of the oysters. For me what it was missing, was the lack of understanding that is hospitality because overall we paid 41.80 euro but the service from A to Z was simply not there. When I complained to the waitress about that her reply was: ''Don't be stressed, enjoy the beautiful day, the sun is shining.'' LOL i was shocked because indeed the sun was shining but the overall experience and value for money screwed up...
Read moreWe ordered an espresso martini and a Negroni at this beach club. While the cocktails were good, the prices were above average. One convenient feature is the ability to pay from your beach bed using a QR code, including options like Apple Pay. However, this convenience comes with a hidden catch, which we’ll explain below.
The major issue with this beach club is the hidden charge for beach beds, which costs €50 each. This is an exorbitant fee, and it’s not disclosed anywhere—not on the menu, no signage, and no information via the QR code. The charge is only revealed after you receive your order, which feels like a deliberate tactic, as customers are more likely to pay once they’ve already ordered. At least you have true opportunity to leave the place before paying.
Despite the quick service, we can only give one star due to this lack of transparency. In Germany, we call this “Abzocke,” which means a rip-off. We strongly recommend avoiding this place. There are plenty of other beach clubs where you only need to meet a minimum spend and aren’t subject to such steep hidden charges...
Read moreJuly 14th I was with my family in this restaurant. We were cheated by the waiter. I ordered a bottle of wine via qr code, something got stuck. So I went to the waiter to report it. The waiter stated that this order definitely did not go through, so I paid him directly again. When someone else brought a bottle of wine, after a few moments the waiter I paid for came and said that unfortunately they no longer have this wine in stock. I said that we had just received this wine. And I asked if it was not about the order via qr code, that we had ordered twice, the waiter said no, everything is fine since we received the wine, and the other order paid for via qr code definitely did not go through. The next day I saw in the bank application that the money for the order via qr code had also been withdrawn. We were at the beach that day, so I went to this restaurant again to file a complaint, but they told me that I had to write an e-mail. Until today, no one responded to my e-mail in which I sent confirmation of the transaction from the bank describing...
