During our stay in The Hague, my wife, 10-month-old baby, and I decided to dine at "Xian Delicious Foods," and what we encountered left us deeply upset and disgusted.
After being seated for more than 15 minutes without any server attending to us, I went to the counter to place our order. I specifically ordered spicy hot oil noodles with chicken (as we do not eat beef) and a small Sichuan boiled fish. However, the server brought us Sichuan boiled beef instead of fish. I calmly went back to the counter to inform them of the mistake, requesting they correct it.
What happened next was shocking. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the order taker began yelling and insisting she had made no error. I explained that as Hindus, we do not eat beef, and there was no way we could have ordered it. Her response? "I don’t care about your religion; you can be any religion, but I didn’t make any mistakes." This blatant disregard for our beliefs and the aggressive attitude were deeply offensive.
At this point, we returned both dishes and left without touching the food. It wasn’t about the money—it was about basic respect and customer service. Insulting someone’s religion and turning a simple request into a hostile situation is unacceptable.
It was an extremely unpleasant and disheartening experience for our family, and we will never return to...
Read moreWent to Xian Delicious Food Express, a Chinese noodle restaurant that recently opened a new, more spacious, and appealing location nearby their old one. It’s strategically located near Spui in Den Haag, specifically on Lange Poten street.
I indulged in the Braised Noodles with Beef, which were superbly flavorful and generously portioned. While the chili oil was plentiful, it added a delightful kick. If you prefer a lighter option, the Knife Cut Noodle Soup with Beef is a wonderful choice—clean, refreshing, and delicious. We also sampled the Dan Dan Noodles, which were equally flavorful with a hearty mix of chili oil and minced pork, offering a pleasant spiciness.
For drinks, the Soya Milk paired perfectly with the meal, providing a nice complement to the savory dishes.
I’ll definitely be returning soon, as the extensive menu offers many more enticing...
Read morehave been visiting this restaurant for awhile, recently I went again to discover they updated the menus. To my surprise it all of the sudden said all soups were made with a chicken base. This includes soups that had an option labelled as vegetarian. Granted I never personally asked what the soup base was but people I know did and there was no mention of chicken. When I asked the waitress this time she said it had always been like this. Also the kimchi is now labelled as having fish, which I know is the norm and is why I asked at a past visit if it contained fish sauce and they said no. But now it does. I would not recommend it for anyone with strict or serious dietary requirements. But the atmosphere is nice and for people who don't have dietary requirements it can be a good place.
