Wouldn't recommend it if you really enjoy food. Food was below average, and the menu wasn't very cohesive. Odd combination with Asian influences that just didn't work together. They basically took Asian ingredients and added them to Western food in the hope it would taste nice. It didn't. The food had no flavour and didn't taste like what is supposed to be their Asian counterpart. If you are going to use Asian influences or from any other country, make sure you do your research! The vegetarian menu had Tom Kha Kai. Even with a google search, you would know that kai refers to chicken, so why is it on the vegetarian menu? If there is no chicken in there, why call it chicken? Vegetables with curry, where was the curry? Tasted bland and had no curry flavour at all.
Even the burrito tasted like a wrap you buy at the McDonald's. The lettuce was grilled in the burrito and was all dry and wilted. Steaks were so small that the outside was burnt and tasted burnt, while the inside was raw. Grilled salmon was dry and also tasted burnt. Even the Fries were bad, as if they re-fried them several times. Dry and tasted like old oil. Melon with ham, canned melon with ham.
Tapas is supposed to be shared, but some dishes were just 1 piece, so you had to share 1 bite. I don't understand how they are so busy... but then again, I guess real good food might be too adventurous for some, so this bad half fusion will have to do.
The service also wasn't good. We had to wait so long for our order to be taken and when we tried to order while eating, the waitress took her time to announce to us, she wouldnt take our order until our food was finished. We waited so long for just 6 small dishes and were still hungry afterwards. Drink orders were forgotten, and we weren't able to order more dessert because they were closing, meanwhile, we waited almost 20 minutes for our dessert order to be taken. One of the waiters just handed our food and refused to put it on the table for us. Not the worst thing to happen, but when you dine out, you expect some service?
All in all, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you like to dine out and eat good and...
Read moreBy December 2023 a Year Later. I am extremely disappointed, I made a reservation weeks in advance and was looking forward to having a nice experience. My friends and I decided to call our recent experience at 't Zusje the Hunger Games. With one round per hour. And over-booked spaces that you can't even move between tables.
I can't blame it on the staff they were trying to get through the night, this is a management issue where they have promised more people than what they can actually offer.
I am not going here again any time soon.
What a shame 't Zusje 😢
2022 Was 5 Stars I had a nice Christmas dinner, not as best as home which was the following day. Maar that's another story, the service was top here the food was great, as we got to try many things before getting into food coma, no food was wasted which is something I have taken with me from 't Zusje with so much appreciation. The atmosphere is nice but with everyone talking in such old building it was overwhelming at some point. Installing a white noise ambient system might give this space some peace I would say.
Over all I am really happy I did this in Christmas I know how it must be a litterly hell kitchen during a peak season. So thank you 't Zusje for the incredible experience we had here.
Tot latter as you would say in dutch but most importantly eet almeer en...
