It was a Sunday afternoon and I was lying on my bed in the hotel next door (NH Central) and I could hear the booming of music, and it was ABBA, a band whose songs I know all the words to, as in, every single one.

'Dancing Queen, feel the beat of the tambourine oh yeeeeeeeeah'

I smiled a bit because I love ABBA but I have heard ABBA a load of times so tried to shrug it off and relax some more because it is a Sunday after all but then came more booming from the Dutch speaking DJ and then Boney M! The amazing coincidence was that I know all the words to their songs as well

'Ra-ra-Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen, there was a cat that nearly was gone!' (you know all the words too, don't lie to yourself!)

So as I was listening to everyone wherever it was singing along. I thought to myself 'I am going to wherever it is and sing along to these songs with these people.' so I put on my pants and my socks and shoes and went out to investigate.

And it was right next door, inside the windows was loads of people laughing, smiling and dancing away. There was a group of ladies dancing on the tables who see me, look at me, wave and smile at me and beckon me to come in and join them.

So, I am thinking it's a nightclub but on a Sunday afternoon, a novel concept for sure and one I have never known but I am always up for a chance to try something once but when I got to the door - it's not a Sunday afternoon nightclub - they have sessions every month of which I would be welcome to one for the following month and they do them for special occasions such as Valentines Day, Mother's Day etc.

I am actually a bit too old for that kind of energy for a Sunday afternoon but I do know all the words to the songs they were playing and would love a chance to sing along to them with a load of happy and drunk Dutch people.

So, instead. I sat down at a table outside, had half a litre of Grolsch and sat back and enjoyed the sunshine. It was a really nice day.

I still sang along to The Beatles 'Yellow Submarine' when it came up though. Call it a Pavlovian response but I was simply unable to do anything other than sing along to myself. Anyway, service was great, atmosphere was even better...

Last night, I went out for dinner with four girlfriends at The Street Food Club in Utrecht, and wow – what an incredible experience it was! From the food to the interior and the overall vibe: everything was spot on.

We chose the shared dining menu for €35 per person, which I highly recommend if you’re going with a group. For that price, you get a wide variety of small, surprising dishes, each with its own character and often served with a delicious matching sauce. The food is truly special and unique, the kind of dishes you won’t easily find anywhere else. Think creative combinations, bold flavors, and presentation that turns your table into a colorful celebration.

What made the dinner even more memorable is that at the end of the menu, you get to pick one dish to have again, a fun and generous touch that really makes the experience stand out.

The service was also excellent. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, they came to our table quickly, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food.

The interior is absolutely stunning. Every room is decorated differently, each with its own unique, eclectic style. The design is playful, bold, and full of personality. The music matched the atmosphere perfectly, fun, upbeat, and trendy without being too loud.

The location is also great, right on the corner across from the church, making it easy to find and adding to the charm of the place.

The only thing for us as long dutch people, was the space for our legs. The table was quite small, which caused that we didn’t have enough space for our legs.

In short: great atmosphere, delicious food, beautiful decor, and top-notch service. The Street Food Club is a place I’ll definitely come back to, and one I’ll be recommending to...

A Wonderful Surprise!

I didn’t quite know what to expect — it had been a while since I made the reservation, and I had forgotten what the photos looked like. What I did remember was that the menu featured exotic dishes, and we were really looking forward to our lunch.

And yes, it definitely exceeded our expectations! My Croque Madame was delicious, as were the shrimp dumplings. The passionfruit mojito mocktail was absolutely amazing — fresh and perfectly balanced.

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The interior is beautifully styled, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

In short: highly recommended. We will definitely be coming back!

Just like the first time, we had another wonderful dining experience. This time we tried different dishes, and they were all delicious. The cocktails were fantastic — my favorites are the Bubblicious Daiquiri, the Pornstar Martini Slush, and of course the Passionfruit Mojito.

The service was excellent as well. I had booked for 1:00 PM, but due to public transport issues we arrived 30 minutes late. I had informed them by email, and it was no problem at all upon arrival.

We’re definitely not done dining here 🤭 and will be back again soon!

It was my third time here and my girlfriend’s second, and once again we had a delicious meal! The dishes are super tasty and prepared with great care. We’ll definitely be coming back, because we haven’t tried everything yet. Highly...

Modern twist on asian-peruvian fusion, very busy and fast-paced restaurant with a very cool concept! We got the social deal menu (27 ish euros, dessert for 5 euros extra) with 4 dishes each, to try and share. The interior was very pretty and aesthetic, we got sat in the darker side of the restaurant so was a bit hard to see with just some candle light but that also made it very romantic. The service was good and quick, we only had the table for 2 hours so had to move to the bar for dessert, but it was a nice area too and the music next to the DJ was surprisingly quieter than in the other room. Everything was not only instagrammable but also very tasty! Definitely recommend the beef tataki, bao bun ebi tempura, prawn dumplings and taco pork belly! They also have a big variety of cocktails (even made a cool tarot card style drink menu), we only had the non-alcoholic tropical iced tea, Roze Bunker elderflower lemonade (both amazing!), beer and water bottle. It was tap water and “only” cost 1,50 (some places either don’t give tap water or charge a ridiculous amount). For a Sunday evening, it was very busy and loud (people and music, though the music was very nice), so that could get overstimulating but I would still recommend and come back! The prices definitely match the taste!
