Earlier tonight we were a few colleagues being here for a business event. Originally excited to be at a place which looks pretty nice and local, but already from the start the experience got a bit weird with a waitress who from 8:40pm said the kitchen was closing! (After she originally said it was at 9pm). Our friend was running to be there quickly but she was still very stressful, which probably made her mistook herself when she brought us alcohol free beers instead of real ones. We realized that later. She barely apologized. To be nice with her we decided to keep one of the wrong ones for one of the guests so that it's not too embarrassing for her. End of the story at the end of the restaurant the guy bringing the bill told us we shouldn't have done that or whatever it was not very polite at all and not clear at all instead of just being customer-friendly in such situation. We still wonder if they know was a service business is and that there are surrounded by tons of restaurant all around and that ourselves will never go back there. What a poor way to...

The waitresses were unhelpful and incompetent as we asked for 4 drinks, one of them was missing and one of them was wrong.

Furthermore whenever we tried to order something to eat, said waitresses would avoid our table or ignore us. I assume this was because the menu was changing, which they could have mentioned, but failed to do so, only notifying us of this change when a waitress finally came to change the menu.

Overall it was a underwhelming experience marked by feelings of extreme frustration.

Would like to be able to say something about the food, but the rest of the experience led me and my group to give up on eating...

Je zou het niet verwachten maar deze plek is een verborgen parel. Tenminste de tosti en de carpaccio zijn zéér goed!

Eten: Het was de eerste keer Franse uiensoep die we hadden besteld, misschien was het een moment opname maar het smaakte zuur en zout door elkaar heen. Niet heel lekker. De gehaktbal was droog en kon beter nét iets meer van binnen gekruid zijn.

De carpaccio was heerlijk vers en goed om nogmaals te kiezen! De tosti was goed belegd en was mooi gegaard. Goede apparatuur is aanwezig.

Service: De gastvrouw was attent en vrolijk, werkte vlot en bleef aardig. Ze had best wat tafels in haar eentje die ze onder haar hoede nam dus chapeau! Ook was ze eerlijk over dat we wel héél veel bestelden voor met z’n tweetjes dat konden we wel waarderen. Maar desondanks deden we het toch om even de gerechten te proberen.

Sfeer: Het was een café waar redelijk wat oud publiek komt, leek erop dat er voornamelijk vaste stamgasten kwamen. Leuk om te zien! En af en toe een toerist die Zaandam komt bezoeken. Uiteraard, wij roken niet maar er zijn mensen aanwezig op het terras aanwezig die het wél doen. Kan naar zijn maarja, er zijn ook plekjes binnen als die vrij zijn.

Conclusie: Leuke zaak om te bezoeken. Misschien is het diner anders, we zagen ook ossenhaas op het menu en daar waren we wel benieuwd naar. In de zomer ook leuk om een drankje te doen met wat...
