We were seated and quickly could order our drinks. However, it took around 25 minutes before we could order our food, meanwhile other people were served and tables were cleared.
We experienced the same as the review below. We wanted to order several starters from the menu which somehow wasn't allowed. The lady told us quite sternly that the offer (which we didn't even know about) only counts on weekdays. We were also going to order a main and that seemed to relax her. She mentioned 1 starter each would be sufficient.
When we were asked (again) if we'd like any drinks, I asked for some tapwater. The lady replied: "We don't serve tapwater because it'll make you sick." This is a joke, living in the Netherlands..
We ordered the fried cheese with honey and (4 small) meat balls, portions were very small but tasted alright.
We had to wait another 30 minutes for the main course. I almost decided to leave. We had a mixed grill with chips and Greek sausage with rice (the way the rice was served, it didn't look fresh)
Service was kind but just too slow, maybe there were too many tables for just 1...

I have been here before and the food was ok so visited again. The service was slow but we got our wines and ordered dinner. In the meanwhile they served fries to a wrong table and took it back. That sat on the counter for 20 mins and when my order was ready they tossed the fries in the oil for a minute and re served it to me. I saw salads untouched by guests being cleared off tables and served to other tables. Obviously didn't eat mine then.
It's a cute restaurant with good ambience but this re purposing of food really dampened...

Tip: Loop hier niet langs als je honger hebt.
Vanaf het centrum liep ik naar de geparkeerde auto om de aangeschafte spullen daar in achter te laten. Het plan was om dan terug naar het centrum te lopen en daar een hapje te gaan eten na een klein borreltje. Dit is niet gelukt.....
Ik liep langs De Griek en werd bevangen door heerlijke geuren die door de open deur of raam naar buiten kwamen. Spullen in de auto geplaatst en mijn vrouw opgehaald en overtuigd dat wij niet meer naar het centrum zouden gaan. Klein borreltje zoals gepland op het terras gedaan en daarna binnen (de laatst beschikbare) tafel gekregen.
En dan het belangrijkste: Was het ook lekker? Wij beide kunnen beamen dat het heel lekker was. Hoe is de bediening?: Gezellig, vrolijk en lekker ongedwongen. Voor ons geen strak geklede ober of serveerster (dit is natuurlijk persoonlijk) Hoe is de sfeer?: Ik kreeg het idee dat bijna iedereen daar al eens eerder was geweest, het leek wel 1 grote familie. Wij vonden het in ieder geval gezellig. Hoe zijn de prijzen?: Niet te duur, maar ook geen weggeefprijzen. Wij vonden de prijs/kwaliteit goed.
Wij komen niet vaak in Zaandam maar als we er weer komen dan weet ik het wel!
