Been to this restaurant/cafe/distillery or whatever they want to call it and have been thoroughly disappointed with their service! Don't know if they were short staffed or something but their waitress certainly lied to us regarding the availability of food on their menu! We had ordered two tuna sandwiches with soup and a herbal tea and spice liqouer. The drinks were served promptly and so was the soup which were both nice however after that we had to wait for almost an hour for our sandwiches...though other guests all around us were being served their food, even those who came and ordered after us. After trying to catch the waitress's eye who seemed to be ignoring us and waiting for an hour we had to go to the bar inside, as we were seating in the outdoor area, when we asked what happened to our sandwiches we were told that tuna sandwiches were over!! And the waitress then remembered this to tell us! When we asked for it?! After an HOUR?! Then we ordered cheese sandwiches which were given to us like 15 mins later!! We literally had to gobble them down and everything tastes fine when you are raving hungry!!! We were at Zaanse Schaans with a group and 50 other people had to wait for us! We would have walked out of that place but we had already paid for our meals and with a TIP mind you!! And we were NOT given the price difference between our later ordered meals back which the waitress had promised she would! What really irked us was that the waitress was not even apologetic about this whole ordeal!! All we got was "we are really busy"!! What we essentially got was some mediocre food, HORRIBLE SERVICE and some angry stares from co-passengers on our bus!! Thoroughly disappointed insulted...
Read moreI was disappointed with the dishonesty attitude provided by your waitress during our family visit to your restaurant. Here the story goes, I have ordered the house beer 0.5 litre which was 6 EUROS, turns out 0.25 litre was served on the table. Initially we thought it was mistake and we asked the waitress and show her the receipt for replacement, she told us that there were no mistake and insisted that that was the right beer being served, but the beer cup given was clearly written 0,25 l and we called her for the second time (same person), again although I pointed out clearly on the receipt, she denied another time without giving any response.
We were actually sitting outside of the restaurant and I was so unhappy and took the receipt went into other colleague and told them about the situation, then she saw that and immediately went there giving us back 0,50 litre spontaneously without any checking or whatsoever doubt, this clearly shows that she knew it earlier and purposely hiding it until I went inside and check with her colleague. How can a restaurant can just simply take advantage on tourist just because they are foreigner?
I still have the receipt captured on my phone and will be more than happier to show it to anyone in case there's a disagreement.
I hate to get cheated, same goes to anybody. Will copy the same thing again over the facebook or whatever forms of social media to advise anyone not to visit this restaurant ever again.
Thanks. Visited...
Read moreNo customer toilet. When asked, a waiter directed me to a €1 public toilet outside. I pointed out the cost to him thinking that customers might not pay (common practice in the Netherlands from what I can tell). He defensively muttered under his breath; “we have to pay, too,” as if he was annoyed with this complaint from customers. As far as I’m concerned, if you serve food you should provide a toilet. Not charge people to use one next door.
Sandwich and soup was nice but nothing extraordinary. Tea came with a shot of house liquor which was a nice addition.
Overall, I recommend going to the museum cafe nearby. They serve food and drink with ample seating and they provide a barcode on the receipt which can be used to access their toilet for free as often as you want...
