金味德兰州牛肉面 King Made Noodles — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

First visit today after seeing this place mentioned and recommended on youtube. Unfortunately service was very lacking. Our soup was ready and sitting on the counter getting cold while sole waitress was serving customers at front counter...eventually chef bought the soup to our table..luke warm. The restaurant was not busy at 2pm today. We realised when meals came to the table with no utensils that this was a minimal service type of place....ok - went to counter - no spoons - asked waitress for spoons while i returned to my table. Waitress returned with spoons and put them at the counter - didnt even bother to bring them over to our table! Waitress forgot an item in our order- asked if it would be coming out of the kitchen any time soon she had the gall to tell me I had not ordered it - and i told her that I did order it at the counter to which she replied that she had told me at the counter that the item was not available - she definitely did not mention this to me when I ordered but then again upon our arrival we found her to be lacking in basic customer skills - she was abrupt, looked busy as she was on her own but also not paying attention which is what annoyed me when she had the gall to say that she had told me that they did not have this item. The table next to us were half way through their meal when waitress came to them to tell them they did not have pork buns AFTER they had paid for them and ended up bringing them a cash refund...this shows a lack of attention on her part and also a lack of sync between kitchen and front of house. The only star is given to the chef who hand pulled our fresh noodles - the food was tasty but unfortunately because of our first impressions of the service we will not be returning. This had always been a go to for us. The chewy and bouncy noodle texture paired with a hearty warm broth is great to get through the winter. However a recent visit on a late night where the staff were getting ready to close had put us off. Mediocre/mono-toned service, while witnessing the staff wiping tables, cleaning bathrooms, and serving food with the same pair of gloves has put us off tremendously. This place is really good for when you’re craving soup. They give you free refills for soup and the noodles here is so filling you can tell it’s different from the usual noodle places where it’s instant made. The noodles here are so filling and it soaks up the soup. One bowl can be shared between two people and just keep refilling for soup, but if you’re extra hungry, maybe you can finish it by yourself.
