Burgernaut — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

Normally have a good experience here but some guy I hadn't been served by before insisted that I had to take his changes to my order which made it objectively incorrect. Requested a regular smashy, wanted just the burger, but he wouldn't let me order it without making it a combo to "save money" despite telling him I no interest in the extra items. As I'd already received my beer, he essentially put me in a position where I had to accept his modifications against my will.

When the order was ready, it wasn't even the burger I ordered and he essentially threw it in front of me as if he'd done me a good deal. I attempted to communicate it wasn't what I ordered but he just chose to ignore this and moved on. The burger was wrong. The combo wasn't wanted and was completely unnecessary. The attitude was frustrating to say the least.

This same staff member was generally rude, arrogant, and failed to serve others in my group correctly. Another group nearby seemed to have similar difficulties with this particular staff member too.

I would frequent this place whenever I'm in Auckland but I can't say I'm in any rush to go back after that. Extremely...

Have been here twice. Both times, enjoyed the food and range of beers are brilliant. Great to be able to taste the offerings on tap too. Menu is simple but smart. Tastes great and portion size is huge. Bar staff mistakenly overcharged me which I didn’t pick up, but came over to me a few mins later and offered me a refund for the difference. The best burger I've ever had in my entire life!!! I ordered the September vegan special, with crispy smoked tofu, pickled cucumber, green sambal mayo, and Forty Thieves satay paste (but no smoked pineapple salsa), as a takeway. It was so yummy that – after I'd recovered from this transcendental experience – I almost rushed back to Burgernaut to order another one, but they were about to close.
