I'm a lap swimmer, not sure about all the kids pool side. The lap pool is all good, bright and big, the water is warm enough. The staff is helpful.
The only thing I need to point out is about the shower facility. The shower is a space completely open in the locker room with (only) 4 nozzles. No privacy at all. Not even a curtain supplied...but I can put up with it. All the below 2 are the things need some improvement.
The shower is controlled by a bush and release button, which only lasts for about 10 sec of water. You have to push it again and again while you are busy washing your hair and body. I understand it is for saving water, but think of the inconvenience for all of your customers. I have to say that there are better way to do this, even by just setting the time longer. Or instead of a button which does require some strength to push in, maybe a sensor can serve it better.
Can you please just install some shampoo holders???? I've been swimming in UK, USA and China, I don't know why so many kiwi pools just don't supply any holder in the shower room. Are we suppose to drop our swimsuit on the floor in the shower? Also, It is quite annoying that everybody has to put their shampoo/conditioner/shower gel on the floor, bend over naked (in an open shower space) and pick them up. It just doesn't make any sense to me. The same thing to the handrails, 4 nozzles with only 2 handrails, I assume it won't cost that much to install 2 more, right?
I haven't even mentioned that most of the pools I went to in the other countries, free shampoo/shower gel is usually supplied, some of them even supply free clean towels for the convenience. And all those pools are run by non-profit organization like YMCA, or private running still with a quite affordable price.
I've got to say there is room for improvement in the above aspects...
Read moreDear Centre Manager
I wanted to share an unfortunate experience I had at the centre this evening, as I believe it could help improve future interactions.
As a member and a participant in the swimming lessons, I arrived for my usual 6:00 PM class. After scanning in(where I should've been stopped) and getting changed, I proceeded to my lane, where the lifeguard informed me she was unsure whether the lessons were still taking place. She suggested I check with reception. Upon speaking with the receptionist, I was informed that the term had ended due to the school holidays, and that I had missed my last two lessons, which could not be rebooked. While I understand this policy, I was interested in purchasing a multi-pass and appreciated the help the usual receptionist gave me in navigating the app, as I hadn’t signed up before.
However, as I was still in my swimwear and needed to quickly change, I felt quite uncomfortable when another staff member, who I believe may have been a manager, rather abruptly asked me to pay first before I could enter the changing room. I had not yet made up my mind about whether to book more lessons or purchase a multi-pass, and the pressure of having people queueing behind me while trying to make a decision left me feeling uneasy.
Ultimately, I decided to leave the premises and explained the situation to the staff in charge. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but I felt this situation was handled poorly, and I wanted to bring it to your attention in the hopes that it can be addressed for future situations.
You have just lost a valued...
Read moreWhat a joke. They advertised the aqua aerobics classes starting back from the 8th of Jan - I showed up along with several other people for the evening class on the 9th, we were all waiting by the lanes for it to start, eventually after the class was supposed to have started 5 min ago I asked a lifeguard when it was going to start and he said there was no class. I told him what about all the signs that say its on tonight and also your reception lady whos taking payments from the people for the class and he just said "I don't know". I then went back out to the reception and asked the lady what's happening with the class and she said "I don't know" I asked does anyone have any idea what's going on? Is there a manager I can talk to and ask? to which she said no they went home. So despite all the signs saying classes have begun, they have not. I also spoke to several other people awaiting the class and they said they had called today to confirm the class would be on tonight and were told that it would be. So what the heck is going on? how does not one staff member have a clue what's happening? why have all the signs with the date and time on it if you aren't going to have the class! an absolute joke and a waste of people's time and money. These people couldn't organise a piss up...
